That was it, at the National weights reveal he suggested RWF might be held onto for Fairyhouse....

Kim Muir Handicap Chase

He looks one for the Kim Muir. He ran a big race in the Thyestes and hopefully there's a nice pot in him
 
Yep, just shows go treat everything trainers say with caution, can’t have been more that 3/4 days between those comments....
 
Think I might be becoming RWF’s biggest fan and certainly wouldn’t take anything for granted just yet in terms of definitely turning up for this race with those prior comments and still has to escape a potential capper reassessment due to collateral form. That said I’m definitely feeling hopeful.

I also like the fact one of Elliot’s other (likely) well handicapped novices Coko Beach ran last weekend and is definitely going straight to the Irish National now. Obvs Elliot will have multiple options in that race but reckon it is unlikely he will skip Cheltenham with both Coko and RWF.

As I pointed out previously he had ran 5 times this season with a similar gap between most races as that between the Kim Muir and Irish National so imagine a reasonable chance he runs in both if everything goes to plan after a reasonable lay off since his last race (end of Jan).

Obviously when he was commenting here it was in the context of him running in the Grand National or not.
He's not even high enough in the weights for that.

When I saw these original comments I kind of saw it like that, although him mentioning the Irish National is naturally a worry for this race due to the proximity.

There may have been further comment than I’ve copied over, but 18 days between Kim Muir and Fairyhouse you’d have to say he doesn’t take in both...
 
Re RWF, I am not too worried. Gordon mentioned RWF at the start of the season as one of his 5 to follow and specifically cited the Kim Muir. He's reinforced this view a few times, including in his RP stable tour this week. He should get in off his current mark and I'd say it's all systems go.

Yeah I think you're right charlie, it's just the conflicting comments within a few days of each other that confuses...

I don't think the O'Leary's give a shit about handicaps tbh, but I think it will be an easy sell for Gordon. Coko Beach to skip Cheltenham for the IGN, RWF goes Kim Muir. My logic is if there had been any intention to skip Cheltenham then GE would have said so in his stable tour on Tuesday, when he actually said: 'He looks one for the Kim Muir. He ran a big race in the Thyestes and hopefully there's a nice pot in him'.

Yes, but the conflicting comments came from Elliott himself when, at the National weights launch, he said they might keep RWF back for Fairyhouse, the comments you have quoted came about 3/4 days after.
Something changed in that period...
 
Not loving the fact that RWF has been cut by 3 bookies (all non NRNB) today for the Ultima and not a single cut for this race despite many at the head of the market not even entered. Is it possible that the final UK ratings have were determined today before they are released to the public tomorrow? Should us Kim Muir backers be concerned at all about a potential rating hike due to a collateral form reassessment that would put him over the top? :welcoming:
 
Maybe it’s the surprise he is entered there?

I wouldn't be concerned about any of the NRNB firms clipping him RC, there's no risk punters backing NRNB so could well be people with strong Kim Muir positions just covering themselves.
Also, and this won't apply to many, but where I am restricted on singles I have been using surefire non runners (NRNB) in doubles to boost the amount I can get on, I doubt this is responsible for any price move but it may make the traders look at overall liabilities...
