  • 365 left at 8s for a few mins after the race. Market now suspended. Interesting to see the reaction..

    • Best result possible for my Ryanair & mares Chase positions there. Didn’t think Allaho had that turn of foot, was pleasantly surprising there. Nice to see him finally get the ride & trip us armchair trainers always knew he wanted. But got to give credit to the 2nd she’s gone miles clear of the others there, has essentially given weight to the winner on her first Chase start in a year. A proper contender for this you’de Hope & won’t have to carry the grade 1 penalty which colreevy will.

      • how much would colreevy have to give elimay in weight??

Just found the post page 1, 5lb.

Might actually turn into some race this mares chase

15/2 available in one spot (Betway)
            A few places are 7/1
            NRNB price of 9/2

I think she's a much, much better bet than Colreevy.

There surely aren't 3 better Mares than Elimay to kick her out of the frame?

            • Elimay was very good and looks to have an excellent chance. I've cashed out the majority of my original bet on Colreevy and left a roll up on her which returns more than enough for me if she wins. But after these comments I'd rather top up on Elimay at 7/1 with Sky:

              On Colreevy:

"She jumps very well and takes it all in her stride. Paul (Townend, winning jockey) was very happy with her and how she did everything for him with no fuss about her,” said Mullins.

"There's a Grade 2 chase at Limerick in March that we're looking at next but whether or not she has higher expectations or not I don't know. I'll chat with the owners but they were hoping coming here today to hopefully win and then go on to Limerick.

"We might revise plans but we'll see; whether or not she has enough experience over fences to go to Cheltenham is another day's work. Certainly what she has done at Limerick over Christmas and today would lead you to think she might have as good a chance as anything over there."

              • You do get the feeling from them failing to 100% commit horses like colreevy and elimay to the mares chase that benie is coming here

                • The above comments on Colreevy mean Elimay should definitely be shorter than her IMO!

                  Colreevy could go to Limerick.
Benie might stay over hurdles (especially as Mullins might have this locked down)
Hendo played down Dame De Compagnie (and JP owns too so no need to run?)
Put The Kettle On is aimed at the QMCC
Honeysuckle still quoted, definitely not coming here?
Elfile is next at 12/1, not been seen yet.

                  So what's left....
Shattered Love at 16/1 and Annie Mc at 16/1?
                  20/1 bar.....

Elimay is a proper bet here isn't she?! I can't see her out of the frame, and if BDD runs I still think it's a rock solid bet...

                  • Agree with what you've said re BDD kev. You'd fancy Elimay and Colreevy is plenty of ammo for Wille for this race, and he can then have two darts at Honeysucklein the Mares Hurdle.

                    • Nrnb double on benie in the hurdle and elimay in the chase currently 32/1 with paddy

                      • I'm now thinking with Mullins having Colreevy and Elimay as very good shots in this, that makes it more probable that Benie goes either Mares Hurdle or Stayers. With Concertista in the Mares Hurdle I'm leaning towards the Stayers for her now as Mullins has nothing for that.

                        • And this is why you back more than one in each race - I can sit back and know I have the top 3 in the market without all the headache of playing Mullins Bingo!

                          He might want the 1-2-3
He might want to go double handed vs honeysuckle
he might send BDD to the stayers

                          the beauty of nrnb

                              • Hi first post ever the way Mullins has campaigned some of his runners at Cheltenham it’s struck me he thinks a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Moving Bernie to the stayers would in my opinion mean that he thinks the others are his best chance of winning those races. As I think he would like to win all 3 races but not at the expense of losing one of the others. Colveery,Elimay and concertisa winning, I don’t think increases Benies chances of winning the stayers which he has entered in for the last 3 years but has run her in the mares race each time. If Benie is his best mare and best chance I think he will run her in the race he thinks she has the best chance of winning. I don,t think he would sacrifice benie with the hardest options on her last possible Cheltenham unless he off course thinks she has a really could chance of winning but he tends to do the same things over and over. I’m probably wrong of course
