  • Kemboy looked like he could go round again. Serious engine.

    • Kemboy for a young horse has showed massive improvement , in a open year must have a chance in Gold Cup.

Road to Respect unlucky and ran with credit , still in mix for the big one comes March.

The one which a few on here have also mentioned is Bellshill , he the one who could improve past the others.

Christmas period normally sorts the chaff , the also rans and contenders , hut not this year.

Percy its all down to you to liven up the market.

Didn't fancy the 40/1 last night, much rather take the 8/1 now...

        • That went pretty well for my AP bets. I was encouraged with Bellshill on his seasonal reappearance and thought RTR did very well to run into third having slipped and seriously hampered his chance to mount a challenge. Shattered Love will hopefully now be Ryanair bound.

Actually don't know. Not sure there was a reason myself, but only had the 3 runs last season and started very late, end of Feb to be exact to the turnaround for Cheltenham was probably not enough time I'd imagine.

Cheers, wasnt too sure if I just hit a blank and was forgetting an obvious reason why he skipped it.

              • Very impressed with Kemboy today and is clearly improving at a rate of knots. However, he still has a lot to prove for the Gold Cup. There is very little stamina in his pedigree and it certainly helped that Mullins was able to dictate the pace on the second circuit, stack them all up and then use his superior pace against more stamina laden horses in a pretty slowly run race for a Grade 1. The Cheltenham Gold Cup will be a much more attritional contest; that and the extra 2 1/2 furlongs could make a big difference.
All that being said, what an exciting horse!

                • Thanks all. Full marks to David Mullins for taking things into his own hands.

Very sad that we lost Disko and thoughts go out to connections especially stable staff going home to an empty box. It can happen to any of us at any time and is a timely reminder of the price that is sometimes paid for our good times.

.Turns out Gold Cup legend Coneygree stopped in the @kemptonparkrace straight due to a nasty overreach rather than tiredness. Now @BradstockRacing hope to have him out in a month before a possible @CheltenhamRaces tilt. Yeeehaaa!
Was a great sight seeing him in full flight in the KG

                        • I celebrated that win as if I owned him Archie

Thrilled for you, can't even imagine how exciting that must be.

                          Well said regarding Disko too.

                          • Cheers Kev.

Interesting to compare the Savills and the King George as they were both won by 6yos. Clan Des Obeaux was given a higher RPR than Kemboy but Kemboy is now shorter in the betting. I wonder what the handicappers and Timeform will make of it.

Arguably, they went too fast in the KG and allowed CDO through to pick up the pieces. In contrast, they were going too slow in the Savills until David went to the front and dictated the pace from there. It was certainly an impressive kick between the last two fences and he stayed on strongly but it's unlikely that the Gold Cup will be run like that.

He was very good Archie and well done. Obviously you have to respect the form on the day and take him out of the race as a gold cup prospect .
I also thought road to respect ran an absolute stormer too, going forward .

                              • Considering R.T.R pretty much stopped and then ran on again , definitely run a stormer ,
                                another 2 furlongs ,who knows.
