That will just be firm or good to firm at 100/1, I’ve just checked, not as you interpret as ‘any other ground’.

it will be either be confirmed as ‘Soft, heavy in places’ (5/4) or ‘heavy, soft in places’ (8/1).

Or just soft at 5/4 and heavy at 8/1.

Soft to heavy at 100/1 won’t exist.

If it did, it would be the best 100/1 speculative price in history.
 
I know we're using it to gauge what we'll get but betting on the going is some degenerate stuff isn't it haha

Another scorcher today, definitely the nicest day we’ve had post Christmas, plenty of warmth in the sun and a gentle breeze.

When you say “degenerate stuff” Robith, how could you enlighten us on that thought?

Surely if any market is available, on any sport, it’s up to the punter to seek value, on every specific bet they play?

8/13 on good to soft and 7/4 on soft just a few days ago was an invitation to explore value - 16/1 with PP for heavy was, also, an exceptional play.

It might well turn out that good to soft is the order of the day, but to call it ‘degenerate’ as a betting opportunity I feel is slightly harsh, in my opinion.

Ok, I'm a bit of a Cheltenham weather anorak but it really is looking like a good old spring ground week, and for me with a bit of soft in the going that's proper fair jumping ground.

Fair old bit of the wet stuff coming in for the weekend. At least we'll not get any artificial watering this year.
 
6/4 for soft with Paddy’s now a stand out price by a distance. Odds against, to reiterate.

Willy Twiston Davies living 8 miles away saying it’s an absolute certainty it’ll be soft come the 1st day.

I don't know if it's a better or worse method in truth but you get a nice location marker for the racecourse itself, which I really like!
