Ultima Business Solutions Handicap Chase 2018

I looked at Yala Enki for that exact reason... but then just decided he isn't good enough regardless :highly_amused:

Don't think it's a really strong field that a horse beats a Grade 1 winner LTO by 54l is 16/1

Hope you are right with this. Looks almost a carbon copy of their coup with Road to Respect last season :)

I think he's going to go JLT because it looks quite weak now :(

Disappointing for Coo Star Sivola that he ran last time out in hindsight.... would have been in with no problem from 7 lbs less!

It’s been a massive positive coming into a handicap race here off the back of a win, something like 50% of more of ‘caps win were won by horses winning their previous start.
Wellbeing and form a clear requirement...

Arguing for the sake of it here... as it has already happened....

BUT

If connections had known they'd have got in off 7 lbs less, I would be flabergasted if they'd have run CSS again.

I can see why coming in on good form is a plus and it obviously doesn't harm CSS's chances... but 7lbs is a lot and they did run him to make sure he got in... in hindsight, he doesn't need that 7lbs.

Any love for Cogry?

Course and distance winner on soft last time he was at Cheltenham, beating Singlefarm and better off at with him on that form too.

25/1 5 places?

I'm liking Beware The Bear and Vintage Clouds for this. It's not the best renewal and both should like the soft ground.

I’ve done:
Beware the Bear each way @ 14s
Shantou Flyer each way @ 20s

Both will relish the conditions

Yes.

I have too may bets in some handicaps already but for any additions and tricast purposes will start from bottom and work up where there is a proper spread of weights.

A C&D winner near bottom of weights of obvious interest to me.

Not much logic to it given he hasnt been dropped for the last three Ps but Venetia's runner with Cooper up would be a nice Cheltenham come back story.

I will be backing EW on course. Will also do a small EW double on Cogry and Ballyhill. Re Cogry, CD winner, ground will suit, big price, low weight, lots to like IMO

He's one that will love the ground.

The other one I like is Beware The Bear, only once out of the placings over this sort of trip, still lightly raced for his age and possibly a reason why Nicky is keeping Gold Present in the betting, to hold the price of this one (of course this is a weak argument, but something I like to keep an eye on), 20/1 NRNB is good enough for me too!

Yeah, I put up Beware The Bear back in January and still feel he will run a big race in this Nick.

This race doesn't look that strong. I was very much against both Snow Falcon and Dingo Dollar even before they were withdrawn. The top three all have question marks. I have backed Gold Present but I think this trip on better ground might just about be his limit. They will also be nursing him with regards to the National. I have already said there wasn't much substance in Coo Star Sivola's last run and does anyone really know what you are going to get from Singlefarmpayment these days?

I had backed Vintage Clouds for the Kim Muir and have added him here as well. Cook got involved in a ridiculous pace battle last time and consequently he ran much better than the placing suggests. The ground should suit.

Vintage Clouds the obvious mover since declarations.

Backing Shantou Flyer at 20's

I know I've previous said the handicapper has him, but he will love the conditions and I expect a good run from him. The others may not go as well.

Happy going in with Singlefarmpayment and Shantou Flyer

Does he really want 3m1f on heavy ground?

Looks to me he wants 2m5f on heavy ground or 2m7f on good ground
