Triumph Hurdle 2020

Anyone know anything about Echoes In Rain?

Seems to be Willie's only juvenile entry over xmas period and he's in the graded race, 50s are available at the moment

She was mentioned by Scooby a while back. If they do run her in the graded race and lose, they may put her away for a novice campaign next season.

If shes fit and well and runs ok and is competitive, why put her away, keep running her in grade 1s? She might win one if she doesnt then got the novice status for next year, if she wins one shes then won a grade 1 so who cares about the novice status, if she finishes in top 3 even in any then black type for breeding. I dont see the advantage of putting her away if shes beaten and still fit to run, not much upside to me.

I'd be very hopeful she wins at Christmas. And he may or may not have better than that kept back.

Like Jackie said if she doesn't win she may well be put away for the Mares nov 2021, but she wont be beat for lack of fitness. So if shes good enough, she'll win,
with no excuse from me

She's deffinately fit enough. Shes done plenty away. But they may fancy there chances of putting her away for a mates nov. I d be hopeful theres no need to and she wins at christmas

To be fair, as Billy says, whats wrong with doing a Lets Dance + running her while shes fit and well in the Graded events through spring. if she wins, she does, if not she doesnt?

This is Willie Mullins we're talking about :highly_amused:

Lamarckise was entered in the Spring Juvenile last year, didn't run and then kept for this season as a novice. This is quite often Willie's modus operandi with French imports anyway.

Yeah, but Larmarckise didn't run. If, as has been said above, she runs and doesn't win. They might well just choose to run her in higher grade like Lets Dance.

Allmankind did loads wrong on debut and still managed to piss up by 37 lengths in a canter. The money came for him big time in the trial at Cheltenham just 8 days later, and he must be some horse to finish the race as strongly as he did having raced so keenly early on. Bombed off in front, jumped excellently and when the field looked to be coming back to him he sprinted up the hill going away from two horses that have both won at Cheltenham since. I think it was a really taking performance and there is a lot to like about this well-bred son of Sea The Moon rated 89 on the flat. Connections thought he wasn't far off Derby standard as a two-year-old and now he's unbeaten over hurdles with valuable Cheltenham experience in a trial that was just if not more eye catching as Fakir D'oudairies. Providing he makes March it's unlikely to get too tactical with no doubt Harry is likely to take a catch me if you can approach. Be interesting to see where they go next and how he progresses but I thought 20/1 with B365 was a good bet based on everything we know now.

Echoes In Rain is following Willies route of putting La Sorelita (4th) and Apples Jade (1st) in the Grade 2 Juvenile Hurdle on debut, so it’s interesting that she is his only entry in the race. Particularly as her french flat form has been franked by a 10F Listed winner.

Getting nowhere here :devilish:

Well would you confidently second guess Mullins?

As she's a pick of Scooby, there is every chance she'll come out and win and make the whole hypothetical conundrum irrelevant.

Think the conspiracy theorists were right.

JP has now bought Cerberus.
Maybe that was the plan. Lose to wave of the sea, let him buy that.
Then reverse the form, and let him buy the other.
Or it's some sort of tax fiddle.

No i wouldn't but what i wouldn't do is use Lamarckise as an example. If Echoes in rain runs, she's a different situation- even if losing.....Which is why i said similar to Billy if she was to run + get beat. Like Lets Dance.

I'm fully in the camp that believes A Wave Of The Sea will be better than Cerberus by March time... when they're in the Boodles.

Homer is entered up over christmas, and seemingly ready to roll.

:encouragement: Good.

Got the list of previous winners to hand?

I assume it's the one at Kempton day 27th?
