Triumph Hurdle 2019

Who’s everyone fancy for today race then?

I've given my 1234 in terms of who i fancy,
but only backed lamarckise today, small stakes, as it looks like they think it's worth a pop

You missed the point. You're comparing two different % chances. Taking a position on Altior is not comparable to taking a position on Sir Erec. Plenty will assume Sir Erec will progress and take 7/4.

"Lamarckise is a filly who works well at home and we've decided to run her in a Graded race thinking that if she wins then great, and if she doesn't she'll still be a novice next season. It's not ideal, but it's just the way the season has been."

answer to sentence one = you missed the point boopa, not me.

sentence two = my comparison was, lay a 7/4 fav (at 4/7) or back a 4/7 fav.

sentence three = as a confident piece of advice, "just lay Sir Erec" is not comparable or as solid a piece of advice as back Altior. So you're correct.

sentence four = yes they will, and they may be right , they may be wrong.

Oh wow.

Well Joseph wins the Triumph.

Impressive although I get the impression he got the run of the race a tad.

Sir erec was good. The race as a whole looks nothing special with chief justice still there

Tend to agree. Leave a 100 rated flat horse with a lead and pay the price. Good performance but not sure it’s as good as it looks.

They did allow a soft lead at steady pace, but they also went right away after the last from chief justice
(only reason he was still there was steady gallop, but they left him for dead once they got running)

Sir erec did. The rest diddnt he was bang there. The 2nd ran very well showing plenty of the bridle again. Strongly run race would suit. Looks a decent ew chance should he go for the triumph

He just turned it into a sprint which suited him. They went a dawdle and when they tried to attack he shot off with his flat speed.

I cant take too much from it tbh. Impressive turn of foot and that's that.

Nothing iv seen to worry me there personally. Wasn't even a jumping test with him being allowed to dictate a slow pace. When he's around horses in a big field in the triumph theyll go a clip and his jumping will be tested, that's when we'll learn more about him. He's deffinately in the mix at the front .

Yeah once they go a clip and he has to jump quicker and slicker then we will see like you say. If he gets an easy lead like that then he will probably win. But surely in a big field something will take him on.

With Pic D'Orhy looking doubtful and you not being overly impressed after today. Who do you rate as having the best chances as it now stands?

Was it sir erec who only had the triumph entry? Or was it fakir who only had the 1 entry??
