Triumph Hurdle 2018

What factors could have made the UK bookies go 11/10 and 5/1?

WHAD proven in the UK? Benefit of fitness?

Can obviously see the straight forward case for Sao you put forward, seems strange that bookies wouldn't also put that research in?

From previous experience they put no research into the juveniles unless they're with certain trainers and connections And money comes forward ie Apple's shakira with the henderson stable tour etc... . And people having a few quid on.

Benefit of fitness yes. His 2 races over here have resulted in wins yes. But surely you'd factor in that 2 horses have met up before and one was soundly beaten.

I'll be watching eagle-eyed. (Although I'm being whisked away to York for the weekend to "celebrate" turning 30) which might affect my watching live!

Sao is priced too tightly at the moment for me to back now for the Triumph.

Sw for the Triumph.

He's not been declared anywhere has he???

Sums up why he was 5/1 with pp anyway. :highly_amused:.
Hopefully no one backed him.

Possibly he's not the only one with solid winning form yet to be out. But one of a few nice ones. I should have a very good time as soon as it goes nrnb for the fred winter.

Famous milly looks a big price to me tomorrow in these conditions, . Not one for the triumph but everything looks in her favour. Tricky little race though.

Does WHAD run at Sundown or Chepstow tomorrow, oddschecker have him in both markets?

A simple Google search would have sufficed, Chepstow for any wondering. :very_drunk:

Cheers Scooby. Do you think this race tomorrow will have little bearing on the Triumph market?

Tbh I don't know. But nothing in there interest me in terms of the triumph.

Really looking forward to seeing We Have A Dream run as I think he's a very lively contender for the Triumph Hurdle and 10/1 will be long gone if he wins well tmw

I think he might get beaten by the ground tomorrow. I saw Nicky say he's raced on it before in France in his blog .

But it was pointed out he didn't win those races!

I don't think the ground would be an excuse tbh, he was outpaced in his French races and looked to want further. So it may help in that aspect.
It's easy to look like you've suddenly found pace when your facing inferior horses. Bit of a nothing race tomorrow though Imo, small field heavy ground a few decent horses. Wont resemble the triumph in any way.

Yes you're right the ground might hinder his chances but still think he's one to keep onside for the Triumph

Does it not worry you that he's been beaten by so many of the horses That are over here?
Ie style de garde
Demopolis
Sao.
And that form is all linked through other horses ie good lucky who's finished in front of him multiple times but also well behind both sao and style de garde. He's not beaten a length each time. He's held 11 lengths by style de garde and 8.5 by Sao. And outpaced by both.

He's faced nothing of that calibre over here yet :)
He's looked good don't get me wrong but I see it as more of a positive for the others.

I thought he won the bet 365 juvenile hurdle impressively and apart from Apples Shakira and maybe Espoir DAllen has looked the standout Juvenile so far, imo.

Agree with your post The Lick. Is Cromwell sending FM over as a sighter for ED? or does she have a serious chance today. I'd say both.

Impressive performance as predicted from WHAD
