To Win 'Any Race' 2019

In the Land Rover bumper editions of 2015/16/17, Gigginstown had 6 runners. 5 of them (Ball D'Arc, Broken Soul, Hardline, Rapid Escape, Valdieu) were predominantly bumper horses the next season. The odd one out was Petit Mouchoir who stuck to 2m2f max over hurdles the next season.
For all that Commander Of Fleet won his point, there's just not enough information around to decide whether Fame and Glory's progeny will be better over 2 or 3 miles. If he really is seen as a good prospect, I wouldn't be surprised to see him kept to bumpers and not go to Cheltenham at all.

The 5 horses quoted were all beaten in the Land Rover bumper though Archie. CoF won impressively and they surely go straight over hurdles, like they did with PM (who was also an impressive winner of that bumper).

PM was sent to Willie though so he was the exception in many ways.

The problem with the Land Rover is that it's difficult to tell how good the winner is until the beaten horses run again. Nothing much to go on yet.

Agreed. There have been some high quality winners in the past, so it'll be interesting to see how he ranks come the end of the season.

I'm firmly in the CoF camp for this season, although I've just had a quick look at the timings of his Land Rover bumper in comparison to PM's and PM ran it considerably faster (10s to be precise), albeit on slightly faster ground.

I'd never read too much in to timings of a race as you never know what one might find if challenged, but here's hoping CoF is the real deal and takes on the hurdles next year - hopefully in the Ballymore :triumphant:

I don't think you can read anything into timings when the races are run on different days, on different ground. The clerk's of the course appear to be able to call the ground whatever they want, regardless of what the going stick readings are.

Would not surprise me if COF ended up in the Supreme tbh. I'll be extremely surprised if he is anywhere near as good as Samcro is, however I have added him in the 'any race' market as he certainly made an impression during that one bumper run/win.

On oddschecker's any race market they've mislabelled The Big Bite as Might Bite. Despite being negative on Bitey's chances next March at 33/1 any race I was prepared to take a punt, until I clicked!

Hi guys, which firms offer Any race market please.

Hi guys, which firms offer Any race market please.

Hills are the only company offering the e/way option I believe, but Coral, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Betfair and SkyBet are the main ones I think. Personally think PP, Betfair & SkyBet are never quite as competitive as the other 3 price wise anyway.

Coral, hills, sky, ladbrokes and Paddy Power. Hills have the best selection of horses and some hills and coral shops are accepting bets on these markets.

Posted this on the AP bets thread but more relevant here:

Just a reminder that the Oddschecker Any Race market is all over the place. Backed Vision Des Flos earlier at what I thought was a stand out 14/1 with Coral only to realise this evening that he is 20s with Hills (22s boosted) although it showed as 8s earlier via oddschecker. Luckily Coral agreed to refund most of my stake. My advice is rather than use Oddschecker for this market, check first with Hills as they seem to be top price on most (if not all) in the Any Race market.

And you can use the bet boost too

Added Epatante today 14/1 with hills boosted to 15.3/1, hoping she goes to the mares novice (shes 16/1 for that), done the any race just incase she turns out to be a superstar and JP decides to have a crack at the Supreme.

Daphine Du Clos Worth highlightning from the mares novice hurdle thread

As tempted as I was by the 16/1 with Hills I decided to take 14/1 any race with them instead. Considering connections also have Chante Neige and Salsaretta (who as said already on this thread, could do a Let's Dance), then it seems safer for the sake of 2 points.

On Chante Neige/Daphne Du Clos, is there much history with Sullivan running two in the same race? We know Munir/Suede happily do it as does Ricci.

Daphne Du Clos is with Henderson not Mullins so don’t see Salsaretta being a factor at all.

Is the mares allowance enough to convince them to send one to another Novice race? Again of the top of my head I can’t think of a top one doing so since the introduction of the race.

Understand the hedge, but I don’t consider it a risk.

My next any race will be Douvan at 8s, with any sort of season he won’t be that big and while it’s between the CC and Ryanair the 2 points difference from his Ryanair price isn’t enough to make me back on both markets.

Yeah, he runs a few, the second string wear a pink cap the same colour as the ring on the silks... I'll find a few examples but I know there are a few:

Real Steal and Duc Des Genievres at least twice....

He ran 3 in the Albert Bartlett actually so I'm not doing any more.... Chef Des Obeaux, Real Steel and Fabulous Saga
