this week's entries

Getting back to the Mulryans topic after blowing way too much smoke up my own arse.

I think of this years crop Built By Ballymore’s form has to be looking better & better given my gr? for Path D’oroux. Halibut may frank the form tomorrow but his jumping isn’t very pretty.

You'd imagine only 1 will run and neither unless the ground is not too soft or not too good

Nick's already mentioned the drying ground at Newbury.

Looking at the bbc forecast , :hopelessness:. newbury should get a good amount of rain monday , half a day's rain on wednesday and .
rain thurs afternoon right thru to fri morning, then rain again on saturday afternoon .from 1'oclock.
Combine that with low overnight Temperatures , should be lovely good to soft ground. , your's sincerely ., John Kettley !! .:beaten:.
Any way , i hope Jet powered does run , coz i'll be there. :encouragement:.

Less mm forecast at Newbury this week than Ascot last.......drains better than Ascot as well.

Update on the ground from the Clerk of the course at Newbury via Racing Post:

"With the rain that is due to arrive on Wednesday and Thursday unlikely to be heavy, Ottesen doesn't expect the underfoot conditions to become any softer.

"We have good ground today [Tuesday]. We had 4mm of rain on Sunday and 10mm on Monday and we'll continue watering throughout the week to stop it from drying out too much," Ottesen said.

"We're expecting a dry day today, some rain on Wednesday morning and then there is another band of rain forecast on Thursday night, but none of it is in huge quantities. Nonetheless, it is helpful.

"I don't envisage it being any softer than good, so we'll just keep maintaining that with a bit of irrigation right the way through to Friday morning.""

The lack of rain & suitable ground in most of the southern UK tracks is going to give the Irish horses an even bigger edge than usual this year isn’t it.

Looking forward to seeing Jet Powered in the race Jonbon won last year.

Need to hope for some rain to get into the ground I reckon.

I'm in Birmingham and every time I look out the window it's hosing down. Think I need to move to near Newbury or Ascot as they are acting like they aren't getting a drop.

What's gonna happen is the rain will come then the ground will go straight to heavy and the same trainers will say we can't run our horses the ground is too soft.
