Supreme Novices Hurdle 2020

Loving this Shishkin gamble, I backed him somewhat unenthusiastically at 33s, cashed out for a loss at 40s after his debut fall and although contemplated getting involved again at 33s earlier this week, my reservations about his best trip and the lack of market support on the machine for the Supreme before his race this week meant I decided against it...the dream....haha....certainly won’t be backing him to win now at his current price

Can anybody tell me what the fascination with fly smart is ?
Is his french form any good ?
Are people just looking for a Mullins/ricci horse for this ?

Being absolutely smashed up but I wouldn't go near 6/1. With EA looking Ballymore bound and the price on Aba pretty much gone, the market looked fairly week and when you combine that with Henderson now having a clear apparent charge at the race, plus the visually impressive finish, plus the post race comments (e.g. Ruby), you probably have a wall of people previously scratching their heads now backing Shishkin regardless of whether he's just pissed up in a rubbish race or not. I'd want to see him thrown into deeper waters before getting as carried away as the market clearly has.

Agreed- Everyone seems to be hanging on to every word Ruby says these days. Moving markets......interesting one.

Especially with Nico saying he wants an extra 1/2 mile, his next race being over 2 1/2 and Hendo not ruling out Ballymore. This gamble is weird !
 
I've watched the Shishkin race a few times and still can't make up my mind on his chances in the Supreme. He seemed to take off after getting a crack of the whip, which could mean there's more to come from him. I do like to see a horse finish his race off well but am not backing him at this point.

If you haven't already backed him for Supreme, definitely don't back him at current prices. Wait until the day now and all the concessions, i e. Money back if Aba wins , betting without Aba and 8 places.

Famously offered 8 places in Champagne Fever's Supreme.
They got unlucky to be fair, there were 17/18 expected to run a week out but only 11 took their place.
The Centaur centre had queues going out the door as soon as the opening show came up.....

You’ll see some comments on page 1 of this thread from Scooby, in addition to getting a very good review in Mark Howard’s book (also listed in there by Ricci as one of his 2 to follow for the season) and the French form has apparently worked out very well. So there is definitely more to it than just the connections. Ricci’s racing manager has said he will be out soon after Willie had previously said he was late back.

Only negative is that PP are biggest price although they were very late in adding him to their market after most people had got on at 33s elsewhere before being cut. It’s getting a little late but I still hold plenty of hope that he’ll have a better debut than Annamix last year

Incidentally see Skybet have pushed Fly Smart out to 20/1 NRNB which I don’t think will last long if and when there is an entry
