Supreme Novices 2018

Cheers.

Any solid quotes from connections that this is Getabird's target race now?

Welcome back CoD (hope you weren't following the cricket)

Can't remember any specific quotes but a general 11/4 shot with all bookies who aren't NRNB suggests this is the target

Thanks Ista.

I'm a big cricket fan generally but wasn't out there for the cricket (thank god)!

Thanks for the info on Getabird, personally be surprised if he runs in it still.

Unless real steel or Sharjah is something special I can not see getabird taking on samara so soon as one big rep could be ruined and both have a bright future..

If you search getabird on Twitter there's a video on mullins from a few days ago talking about him.

Yeah I've seen that... didn't have a comment as definite as "He will go down the 2 mile route" though.... unless it is a different video

So, Willie will have had Getabird & Sharjah working together I'm sure of it, both owned by Ricci there is no conflict of ownership so it would seem sensible to do that, if they know Getabird beats Mengli Khan as he did then they would surely know where they would stand with Sharjah too, add this to the fact Sharjah has yet to run or be entered in anything further than 2m suggests they would just be chucking a pointless horse at the Ballymore with him when they can come here provided they believe he at least beats MK (who has been the stand out Irish performer up until his 2 defeats), where as Getabird, being from the PTP sphere and winning everything he has run in including a 2m 4f maiden hurdle suggests they can use him as a live horse in the Ballymore as well as having a solid option for the Supreme in Sharjah.

I honestly don't see any way in which they turn up with both horses in one race, and in no way do I see Sharjah taking part in the Ballymore. All season long and even last season it was that Getabird needed a trip, so much so that he was touted for the AB, now he is suddenly a speedster, albeit his actual time wasn't overly impressive, but they feel he is a Supreme horse.

I remember this happening with Vautour & Faugheen in 2014.

I can actually see Getabird putting it up to Samcro if he runs in the Ballymore and suddenly Samcro wouldn't be the penalty kick he has been claimed to be all season so far.

Ricci hasn't won the Supreme since 2015 and obviously didn't even have a runner last year.

So may think he wants two chances and surprise us all and enter them both! Doubtful I would agree...

Sharjah needs to win the Deloitte first in any instance.

It wouldn't be pointless . He settles like a dream, theres no reason he wouldnt get the trip, he relaxes and dosent waste any energy at all by pulling. you still need plenty of pace and a turn of foot for the ballymore
Long dog went straight to the bartlett. Because min was in the supreme and he wanted to ride yorkhill in the ballymore.

Getabird has speed and stamina he's won the trial, has all the attributes for a supreme. money has been pouring in at short prices on the exchanges and mullins says it's the target.

I do not disagree with your thoughts on Getabird, I just feel if they wanted the best opportunities in both races that Sharjah should go Supreme as personally I think he has more to prove than Getabird over the Ballymore distance, which is pretty obvious really and 20/1 is not a price I'd be interested in.

I guess I am probably pinning my thoughts on that I had Getabird written down as the horse to back for all novice races this season from last seasons bumper form, then out come the Annamix hype, the Samcro hype etc... and I was left, like an absolute idiot, forgetting to back Getabird at his fancy prices and thus staring at some short prices now which do not interest me.

The prices on Getabird are actually really poor, because, as always with Cheltenham and the 1st day of the festival there will definitely be boosts around for him and I don't see him starting much shorter than his current price anyway.

Will Hill have got Getabird at 16-1 now for the supreme ????????. something happening ???

They don't BC! Well not on my computer anyway:devilish:

and shortened mengli to 7-1 , fav i think ?. I'm confused
