Another exciting novice for the Mullins-Ricci team is Sharjah who fell at the last in the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle over Christmas when seemingly set to land the Grade One prize.
“He’s in good form,” Chambers added. “It was unfortunate what happened. Patrick (Mullins) is adamant he jumped the shadow and he felt he had the race won going to the last. He’ll go to the Deloitte Novice Hurdle on day two of the Dublin Racing Festival.”
Getabird.
: “He’ll do his last piece of work on Thursday. He’s back at Punchestown where he won his maiden and we’re not concerned by the drop in trip. His bumper wins were over two miles and we think the quicker gallop will help his education.
“We’re more worried by the opposition than the trip. He’s been in tip-top form since the last day and the setback he had last year could be a blessing in disguise.
“He’s by Getaway and from a limited pool they are showing a fair bit of speed which is encouraging. He’ll be entered in all three novices at Cheltenham, as well as the Martin Pipe, and we’re encouraged Willie is running him in the Sky Bet Moscow Flyer, a race we won with Douvan and Vautour.”
