Supreme Novices 2018

Claimantakinforgan beaten at 4/6 there... ground against him perhaps but I didn't expect him to lose. I thought he had a really good place chance in this.... don't right now haha

Agree with that HF.

Getabird surely goes here now

He was disappointing a nice form boost for if the cap fits however

ITCF looks about the only horse that can put a dent in Getabird not winning this race for me now. A pretty weak looking renewal, assuming Samcro & Getabird don't face each other in it of course.

ITCF Form boost there with the ever closing Simply the Bets!

Definitely clear british contender now.

The ground was against the winner (hence the market drift) so I can't see any real excuses for the favourite. He likely isn't that good.

Can not see it, Mullins & Elliot will want to win and not come second with their stars..

Personally, I don't see it either, but had to state it in case they do, somehow end up against each other!

Well, that’s me done for this race.
Have If The Cap Fits but as mentioned in previous posts, I’m growing less and less keen on that AP bet

Sharjah - writing on the wall, Townsend jumping on real steel LTO = Sharjah not their best

Oh well

Cashed out Debuchet 33/1 NRNB little bit less than full stake... now 50/1 which would pay more if reinvesting the cashed out amount :very_drunk:

What has put you off If The Cap Fits recently opatcho?

I think he's got a splendid chance.

Think we're looking at a similar situation to Altior vs. Min, Getabird could be anything but the questions over what his best trip are would worry me if I was backing at the current price

That was a emotional post after seeing Sharjah getting smashed up today
I wanted to see ITCF win a graded race this season to boost my confidence in him. Backed him at 80’s earlier on in the season after watching his first 1-2 hurdles. Thought he was progressive. Then switched my attention on getting a secondary selection on one Henderson’s or Mullins.

Looking at race and after recent events, the supreme actually looks weak! Weaker than what I thought it would be when I first selected ITCF. I do like this horse, and if Fry heads to the festival in decent form then I can’t moan with my AP get

Again, think I needed this weekend results to stink in and take a step back and look at the field that will head here.

I’m not all that keen on getabird and if Samcro goes Ballymore (most likely) then the best the of British could have a decent shot here - and imo the beat of the British is ITCF

Agreed, I just don’t like Getabirds profile - a PTP’er and I’m sure they were targeting him for the Ballymore until annamix was pulled and later find in out their 2 milers were all duff

I'm not writing claimantakinforgan off completely , sound's like the ground did'nt help , and he does have course form at
cheltenham. Still would say that Getabird look's the one to beat though.

Added Duc Des Genievres @ 20/1.

He’s run two splendid races behind good horses. I think the extra pace they go in a Supreme might bring him into play up the hill- nice prospect. Surely has to go to the festival, albeit as a second string it seems.

Bang on. I think he enjoyed the drop back to 2m and is somewhat forgotten behind the brilliant Samcro

Agree with this. 16/1 is a massive over-reaction. I know Henderson said afterwards he might not go to Cheltenham but I think you can discount that; he has nothing else for the race. In any case, you can be certain he wasn't fully primed or suited by the ground. On likely better ground and in a faster run race he has a definite chance; particularly when you consider the Champion Bumper form was far better than anything he had achieved previously and he seemed well suited to the course.

Of course, I may be trying to convince myself as he is the weak link in my Samcro (2/1 Ballymore), Monalee (6/1 RSA), Didtheyleaveuoutto (8/1) and Supasundae (8/1 Stayers) acca!
