Supreme Novices 2018

I noticed Willie 'only' had five entries for the Royal Bond, and Stratum was one of them, so they obviously think he's one of their better 2 milers.

I think Sayar has that race on the radar for Mullins so things should start to become clearer hopefully. I started off looking to see if he was over priced and by the end of it couldn't fall to be impressed more by MK.

I believe my only Mengli Khan bets are multiples so far though, but that might not be true haha. At this stage I try not to get too involved... just try and find the ones that'll collapse until we get more to go on.

Welcome back :encouragement:

Iv backed mengli khan myself but hard to take that as a positive because historically he block enters the ones who are more forward. How far stratum would be up there pecking order id have no idea. But he wouldn't be last.

Take your point Scooby, but the fact MK pulverised one of their better, more forward 2 years olds must be a positive!

Interesting if Sayar does go for the Royal Bond and clash with MK, as on a line through Morgan he has it all to do should they meet. And likewise, a line through Morgan and Stratum is better than Sayar too. I'd say Mengli Khan has been massively impressive in his wins so far, looks a huge horse though!

This is all form lines and obviously dangerous to take it at face value and not allow for more improvement than others, but it is the only thing we have to go on right now.

Would you not take the fact he's a huge horse as a positive for this race CoD?

Plenty of those types have won it recently, compared to the smaller, speedier ex flat types?

If a horse is talented enough I couldn't care what size it is haha!

:highly_amused:

Sorry thought you meant it as a negative!

Nah, just an observation really, although not much of a surprise Gigginstown buying big horses as most end up as chasers anyway.

Annamix and reel steel entered at Thurles next thursday. 2m.

That will do. Same race petit mouchoir and riven light went for but always enters the good ones for the race. .

Now's a good a time as any to start praying it's not another Senewalk job :triumphant:

Thats good to know, I assume Petit Mouchoir was highly rated in the novice hurdle ranks for willie after impressing in a bumper for Elliott and they have always said Riven light is a very good work horse!

Moscow Flyer decs will be the one to pay attention to!

speaking of Senewalk, any idea of the horse whereabouts? Never here of it mentioned at all apart from the 'flop Run'

Lovely introductory Hurdle at Ascot tomorrow 2:05 which should be informative. Mr One More, whose form ties in closely with Slate House, up against Lalor, whose form ties in closely with a lot of last seasons best bumper horses. I expect them to be closely matched which isn’t going to help anything a great deal

Robante,
Yes, interesting race. Im hoping Mr One More comes out on top as I've had a nibble on him for the Supreme.

For what it's worth he'd just about be my play in the race today I think, found a formline that puts him close to Lalor and you'd have to think he's a lot more unexposed. Will be watching closely

Would be a decent scalp for lalor If he wins today. The mare is short of her optimum trip but she's deffinately no mug in the receipt of weight, shes a live outsider for the mares hurdle, but in all honest he should beat her over 2miles if he wants to be contending for a supreme. Mr One more is a horse a few on here know about and have took a liking too, I don't know enough about him yet to make a judgement but I may well do after the race if he can take this.

I don't think any of them will be winning a Supreme on that race there. Lalor again struggled. Travels well enough that a step up in trip would probably be a better option. Mr One More needs every single yard of that 2m, and again likely wants further IMO.

I'm a sucker for a low head carriage, and thought it was a nice enough performance from Mr One More if you take into account how shabby he was over the last few hurdles. If he tidied up his jumping and comes on again from that it wouldn't be too big a stretch to see him in the picture for the Supreme, still think Claimantakinforgan might prove to be the best performing of last years bumper horses over this trip
