September ‘25 Yankee

I wouldn't be having penny on myself unless I see an entry.
The Pertemps is not so much a suggestion, more a warning flag for those wanting to back him for the Stayers....
They still also have Irish Point to come back. He might see a fence but could enter both equations again

Jimmy Du Seuil for the BANC @ 40/1 makes some appeal, to me at least.

Horses coming from previous runs at the intermediate trip at the festival actually have a fair enough record in this race.

Previous winners of the BANC with this profile include Denman (Ballymore), Blaklion (Ballymore), Don Poli (Martin Pipe), Topofthegame (Coral Cup) & Champ (Ballymore) to name but a few.

Jimmy Du Seuil supposedly had an injury last season which held them back going chasing, in turn it resulted in him absolutely bolting up in the Coral Cup off 146, but the plan now seems to be chasing this coming season.

He won going away in the Coral Cup, and likewise was staying on well in the Ballymore the year before too, suggesting 3m should be of no concern, albeit he has to now prove it at this trip.

Personally the trip would be one of my concerns, I think he's a cracking E/W prospect for the race if seeing out the trip.

My other concern is that they 'attempt' chasing, it doesn't go to plan and they revert back to hurdles off a slightly reduced mark before going for back to back Coral Cups, which I see as a definite option (devised plan by connections).

If you're not as sceptical as me about connections making 'plans' then he's a good old bet for this race. Could end up going off the second string for Willie in the race or should anything happen to Final Demand, could be first string.

I think Jasmin De Vaux will stay over hurdles, Kawaboomga could end up anywhere, Salvator Mundi there were some early talks of him staying hurdling but at the same time is likely more an Arkle type than a BANC type, IMO, and then you're down to Kopek Des Bordes & Jimmy Du Seuil for Willie.

Very good shout. Forgot about him. I'd have him over Teahupoo all day long

Think he was going to go over fences last season but the injury may have changed their plans. He was on a mark of 158 before flopping in France so they could go a multitude of ways with him if he is fit and well.

I’m never keen on horses out for a season as Cheltenham festival punts
I was hoping he’d jump a fence last year

I remember thinking the same thing, shortly after the Festival, re Jimmy Du Seuil @ComplyOrDie

Went looking for BANC prices, and there were none anywhere.

Thought someone may put up a wild price, on request, if I was lucky,
while everyone was focused on The Yellow Clay and Final Demand (one look at whose actually WON the BANC in recent years tells us its not usually the ones that are Favs for the race after the previous March)

Got him added to it, by one bookie, and none of the others joined in at that time.

Waited to see if he took up his Punchestown early entry - which he didnt. (I think he was in the Grade 1 Stayers Hurdle over 3M there)

Hes only a 6yo still, and comment Willie Mullins made in his Stable Tour in the R.Post on 24th November last season - said he has had a setback and won't be ready until after Christmas. He was going to go Novice Chasing but if hes not ready in time we will stick to hurdles for the season.

There's more bookies quoting for the BANC now, since I requested that 1st price, which is good.

If anyone knows of his wellbeing that would be helpful.

Even better if the plan's back to last seasons one re Novice Chasing - thats usually the norm for Willie.

Plus as a 6yo rising 7 (c/w a year younger when missing a season over fences) - there more chance of him ending up in staying Novice Chases this year, than there may have been last year.

Age of last 10 BANC winners (starting with Lecky Watson first)

....and probably one reason why Galopin didnt run in it as a 6yo, and Fact To File skipped Hurdles completely to run in it as a 7yo (both for Jimmy's trainer)

7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8, 7, 7, 8, 7

Owner @Ed_Ware on JIMMY DU SEUIL:

"A tiny issue kept him off the track following his impressive win at Cheltenham.

"He has only just returned from his summer break and the plan is to go fencing this term."

Thats from 20th August Road To Cheltenham X account.

Opinions on putting Gaelic Warrior for the king george at 6s in one of these

I have paid no attention at all over the last few months having started a new job

But I'm assuming nothing has been said about his early season target

If he was my horse his gold cup every season would be kempton

Little jog round in the durkan then go here.

I backed him for it after aintree and am tempted to top up

Thanks for that update @Many Clouds

All sounds good then - as all of WPMs come back in around now (apart from the Galway/summer ones) - so missing no training now, just didnt finish last season due to a niggle.

I’m unsure if there’s precedent for it, I’ll stick to the rules and put up four for the fez in the Yankee, but could throw in an optional / additional super Yankee with another race away from Cheltenham.

That said - may create absolute uproar on here with such madness.

Some bloody good debate so far at the half way point - thanks all to those who have put thoughts forward and let’s keep it coming.

Has anyone had their OJA through yet?

**edit - I do quite like the Caldwell Potter angle for the KG, mind…

Probably been mentioned before but Place De Le Nation at 20s not the worse shout for the mares novice hurdle.

Not sure if mentioned before and also not a race I usually have an Antepost bet in, but hipop de loire at 20's looks very interesting to me for the bartlett. Looks the only race they can go for provided hurling is the plan for next season?

…anything in the early TH markets worthy of consideration @darlojim?
I had a small Manlaga play yesterday Eggs, debut win looked a good performance and form been given a big boost.
Whether 12/1 represents any value now is questionable but the price is only going one way and as I was passing Paddy Power I thought I’d pull the trigger….

It's ridiculous how they've priced this year Eggs, so many underpriced for how far out we are and how little there is to go on yet.

Manlaga would be top of the pile for me right now, her time compared pretty well against Narciso Has' debut.

But as we've just seen recently, there will be some real promising horses coming out over the next month or 2 in Auteuil still.

One thing I would say is, don't back Nightmare Has (y)
