Ryanair 2020

Firmly in the Min camp here, with CPS 2nd favourite for the Champion Chase if he stays sound then surely no question Min ends up here.

Whilst his Cheltenham run this year was extremely poor (9L to Politologue), at the middle distance trip he won by 20L against the same opponent.

It looks a competitive race next year but Hills are standout price @ 12/1 (13/1 boosted). 2-3pts higher than any other bookie. Assuming the John Durkan in December is his first start again, if he performs well and early talk of his Festival target is the Ryanair then I wouldn't be surprised to see around 6-1

I agree with this but CPS has been hard to keep sound so if he gets injured it would be easy for them to drop Min into the QMCC on the basis that they may not face Altior and RR is far more likely to want to win the QMCC than the Ryanair.

Even if CPS sustains some sort of injury I struggle to see WPM making the same mistake with Min yet again, even if Altior is not present.

WPM also has Cilaos Emery & Duc Des Genievres to fill these gaps.

Yeh you are right. I've pulled the trigger on Min. Interestingly he is still 12/1 with Hills but as short as 6/1 elsewhere. Will post up some cross sport bets on my ante post page that will include Min at 12/1

Just to make the point that, between Down Royal in early November and Leopardstown after Christmas, in Ireland there are just 6 graded open steeplechases. 3 are at 16 or 17 furlongs and 3 are at 20 furlongs.
Willie has 10 of the top 20 rated Irish chasers so he has to be quite creative about where they start off. I wouldn't be put off if Min goes 2 miles first time up.

And ultimately Min can still win 2m grade 1 chases this season. He's a good horse.

He's not as good as Un De Sceaux was but he's only one notch below.

There aren't many horses that have been at UDS's level ... the are done of course, but a few of them could be considered 'greats', like Sprinter, Altior and UDS himself.

Chacun Pour Soi has to prove he's at Min's level yet ... I almost expect it, but it shouldn't be assumed just yet.

Cadmium introduced into Paddy Power book at 16/1. I've no more news on his well-being and I doubt we'll see him before mid-November.

Available at 25/1 in a couple of places and 25/1 any race with Hills.

I took the 25-1 for Cadmium with Corals , yesterday . Look's Tailor made to me for this race.
and youv'e already got one for the Gold cup Archie ;):encouragement:

You can still get 25/1 any race with Hills.

They, ( w.h. ) closed all the shops nearest to me , But might add the any race if i'm near a shop soon.

I think the 10/1 for Min is a fair price, but not for me. This is the race for him but you never know with mullins
Think i'd like to see Min go for 3 miles at some point before this, think he could improve further over a sharp 3 miler

Min races far too keenly in his races to be considered for over 2m5f IMO. It will be QMCC or this.

Be good to see him have a go at King George though... the way he won at Aintree would give you hope.

Not that the King George needs any more excitement this time around

Imagine the scenes if Min finally beats Altior at the KG

Haha, to be fair, Altior wunning in the King George is definitely a reason Min won't

"we've been chasing Altior's arse for 4 seasons.... " haha

7 of those did not run at all at the following festival.

Of the 17 remaining horses, 5 won or placed in the Ryanair
2 also won/placed in other Festival races.

(1st) Defi Du Seuil is head of the Ryanair market,
(2nd) Lostintranslation is joint 2nd fav in the Gold Cup market
(3rd) Mengli Khan is a bit forgotten?

I bet somebody places the Ryanair / Gold Cup double though at 98/1 :p

I was just looking at darasso and watched his last 2 runs from last season where he looked pretty decent beating cadmium who obviously went on and won well at aintree after, anyone reckon he could end up here come March? Slightly lower price than what I had hoped for after looking on oddschecker, might be 1 I use a free bet on soon

I like Kalashnikov for this in terms of value

Not many trainers target a horse for race, which is pretty much certain with K.....can still gets 20s plus boost with Hills (prob less need for cashout)

Decent run on Sunday.....he is right age, 160 RPRs not too far off as improving.....and has festival form

Think he will be much shorter on day and one to have in the book

Just added Janika at 25/1 ew with PP.... fine run today giving weight all round and he's only 6 so every chance he can improve again this season.

done same but with B365 at 20's,
had a good chat about this horse a few pages back and that was impressive giving weight, and over a trip probably a bit shorter than ideal.

Jacob played down G1 chances just now but a nice prospect.

I'd always be cautious about first runs of the season against a field in much the same boat and I think that the handicapper will probably take the same view. RTV were talking high 160s but I'd stick at 165 for now.

What kind of tool does that make Cadmium?:devilish:
