Must be owners wanting Gold still.
Just a bit vulnerable over the longer trip isn't he.

Read this and thought it was Deja Vu.
 
Given the very good prize money on offer I’ve mever understood why this race is always considered the bridesmaid to the Gold Cup, they are completely different tests and year after year the ante post market is the most unpredictable of all the races at the Festival. Someone needs to sponsor this race another £50k to give the race the kudos it deserves. 3 weeks to go and still most of the top 10 in the market won’t arrive on the day!!
 
RJ on Luck on Sunday looks like she's hating every minute of it but did say no excuses for WP and he's run pretty well.

Always wondered why they have the croissants on the table as well, never seen one eaten.

It'll always be the poor relation to the Gold Cup and no amount of money will change that. Ask 100 any owner, trainer or jockey whether you'd rather win a GC or Ryanair. To a person, they would all say the Gold Cup.
 
Monalee just never seems to hit the line hard,looks like a weak finisher at both yesterday's distance and 3m,happy to take him on wherever race he rocks up at the festival.

I said that earlier.
He just looks vulnerable for some reason.
But his drinmore win, and his win yesterday (to a lesser extent) give him more of a chance at 2m 5f for me.
I like Min also for this race, but he's similar in my mind
Something tells me I should be looking for something to go by them in this race.
It'll all depend on who actually lines up.

If waiting patiently turned up. Which he likely won't. You can't knock him at all either. Same as ABP if he turned up.
monalee would have some sort of chance. Nothing like his price dictates though.
 
I bet that is the case nearly every time but I don’t get it because the Ryanair is a different race completely, it’s ran on the new course and a completely different distance to the Gold Cup, I’ve never understood why it’s considered the b listers race at the Festival, I think it’s a brilliant race with Cue Card & Vatours performances standing out. Neither of those horses would ever have won a Gold Cup but could have both made a really competitive Ryanair for a few years (if Vautour had avoided tradegy granted). I don’t understand the ego of owners. Monalee & Frodon are Ryanair horses, so is Road To Respect. Their owners are wasting the golden years of their careers wasting their time trying at the Gold Cup.

I get that but the Gold Cup is a different race to the Ryanair and I don’t know many horses at the top level that could dominate in both. Just like the Masters is different to the Open. Would Denman, Bobs Worth & Native River have won a Ryanair? I don’t think so, Don Cossack couldn’t!!

The difference between having a clean run and being stopped in your tracks twice.
 
I remember the race well, it still haunts me, it’s still the biggest single loss I’ve experienced on a race but my point is that the Ryanair should in itself be the pinnacle race for middle distance jumpers and not be the Europa League race its turned into.

It's always been europa league though.

I hope it does change with time as it’s a championship race but it requires more trainers & owners to treat it with with the respect it deserves. Anyway rant over, I’m just frustrated that I’ve got a few ante post multiples in complete limbo whilst Monalee, Min, Footpad, Road To Respect, ABP remain in no mans land with 3 weeks to go

Where do you have min and footpad?

Aslong as you have min Ryanair and footpad qmcc.
You'll be fine.

Road to respect goes gold cup. Theres no doubt there at all.
 
I have Min in 2 Lucky 31’s and Monalee In 2 Lucky 15’s. I’ve left Footpad alone, I think he’s not over his injury earlier in the season. I don’t think Road To Respect is a Gold Cup horse, after he won the BA the natural progression was the Ryanair, he doesn’t stay with enough pace to win a Gold Cup.
