Your own rating system is only useful to yourself.

Which is why I said this...

Handicapper might have to be careful with Cyrname's new rating.
It's hard not to crab the form as the other horses positions are pretty close to their ratings.
Be 175+ I reckon

But strictly speaking he's pretty close to Altior , so let's hope he's careful.
 
Politologue's owner John Hales is beginning to wonder if the grey may have a wind issue, and admits a Cheltenham Festival bid is on the back-burner this year.

"He seems to have lost a touch of his speed," he said.

"We will have his breathing checked out. We will have the vets look at him, but he didn't accelerate round the last bend like he usually does.

"It's the first time he has been beaten here. I think it probably makes Cheltenham a non-starter.

"If it is only a soft palate that he needs done, there is time for that and Aintree."
 
So Politlogue didn't perform yet we're supposed to assume Waiting Patiently ran to 170. Fox Norton is solid but getting on. Charbel is rated 161, WP beat him 5 lengths. I'm happy to have WP on 165.
 
Why have so many people got it in for WP’s OR? Yes it’s obviously a bit high but he can only beat what’s out in front of it. He ran against a horse in the form of its life and probably will now be rated 170-174. He hasn’t had a proper run for a year and the ground was dryer than it likes. It ran a bit worse than I’d have hoped but it will come on for that race.
Preying cyrname doesn’t get supplemented now.

Ryanair could be a competitive little event this year

Think todays run still entitles WP to be up with the market favs, especially if you take out the winner. Fair price at double figure odds, just be concerned Jefferson pulls him cause shes a tit

This race is after narrowing down big time for me today, the winner comes from Min, Monalee & ABP/TN (If lining up) for me now. Encouraged by Monalee’s run today conceding weight, he’d get the Gold Cup trip but you can’t ride him as positively and use his jumping/traveling speed to put the rest of the field under pressure as much or at all at the maximum trip!

“He's in the Ryanair and the Gold Cup and we'll work it all out between now and then.

“I wouldn't be leaning any way to be honest. I don't know yet and I'd say the ground will be quite telling.

“We'll see nearer the time and make sure he comes out of this okay. We'll discuss it with the Maloneys (owners) and hopefully we'll make the right decision.”
