Ryanair 2019

It's irrelevant because we know that ABP has improved from last season. We can't be sure about Monalee and Percy is auditioning for the Invisible Man. I'd still go with the view that PP was the most mature novice last season and may not have as much improvement in him as some hope for but, unless something odd happens at the DRF, neither he nor ABP will be coming here and I'd be surprised if Monalee has improved past Min and/or UDS.

Yeah he looked beat to my eye. Monalee was knackered too.

Dosent really matter any more. He's gone on and done what he's done. He's a leading GC contender whether anyone likes it or not.

I don't think it's irrelevant Archie. How can the RSA form be irrelevant?

Mate he's my main bet for the Gold Cup but their points are valid. You say gone on but he's won over an intermediate trip.

Because it was the ground hence why he went there. Look at the way he finishes his races in every race. Look at his exchange price. his target is the gold cup.

Very good from top notch, roll on the ryan air.

I'm not sure he'd have got second. Davy was still traveling sweetly when ABP hit the deck, and put distance between himself and Monalee between the last two.

ABP might have finished 2nd but, to my eye, he was odds on to finish 3rd.

I was on Monalee that day and think he’d have been close enough with ABP.

There’s no way on earth either would’ve been close to PP that day though.

Good that from top notch.

I was on him for this last year before he got injured. May have to have a few quid in case he wins. Hot race though.

I’d still have Monalee the one to beat for me

It's irrelevant because ABP has come out an improved horse, Monalee only marginally improved if at all and PP hasn't come out at all. Until PP appears there's no knowing where he is in the scheme of things and casting back to the RSA on desperate going isn't worth a can of beans.

Ok. I could never say previous festival form was irrelevant, especially that RSA from last season which is form that is standing up very nicely.

We'll have to disagree on this one:devilish:

Charbel disappointed the way he ran to the line from approaching the last.

Was there any quote about where he might go next? I have two bets at 33/1 and can't decide whether to cash one or both out

He got beaten by Top Notch fair and square, so his prospects for this are bleak in my opinion. Reputation really based on him not being beaten out of sight by Altior when he fell! Very good at his level but I fear for him against the Irish horses and with Aso in the race he probably wont have his way up front - best when he does.

Reputation based on falling behind Altior?

You must have a bit more respect for me than that :highly_amused:, I personally thought his 2nd to Politilogue and impressive win 8l win in the Peterborough made 33/1 look a decent poke.

and as I said, I was disappointed and was am looking to cash out (for profit I might add) :p

What I wanted to know, is if anyone heard what his target would be, I'd let it run a little longer if I knew he'd be running in the race, as you never know what may fall by the wayside between now and then

You'd think given the trainers reluctance to run anyway that yesterday's result won't have helped his cause (in terms of lining up here).
It's a tricky one.
I think solomon would say cash one in.

Black Hercules - 33/1 NRNB

Won't spend too long in this, unlikely runner, but as a previous festival course and distance winner (JLT) he'd be over priced.

Didn't look the same horse after it in 3 runs and been out over 12 months since. He got a decent enough mention in the stable tours and they said this would be the race.

A concern he's not had a run, sure... but he's in excellent hands for a 'first time out' performance if needs be, I think it's over priced, albeit I probably will just get my money back.

I’ve been thinking about getting him added to some handicap markets

First run in over a year means he will be dropped below 150 imo which could be a great mark, almost always considered a stayer but the pace to win the JLT so would have options
