RSA Chase 2020

Anybody else think that Slate House is a player in this...especially if he holds his own tomorrow?

I think he very much is. Looks to stay to me. Cruises through his races and had loads left under the bonnet in his first run over 3m. And Tizzard may not want to make the mistake he made with LIT. Plus he has Reserve Tank for the Marsh.

Plus he adores Cheltenham which is worth another stone

Cracking campaigning by Tizzard for Slate House.

Will go in to this race with a HUGE tick in terms of his experience compared to anything else in the field.

Got the Grade 1 in the bag already, will be up against horses making novicey jumping errors and he's going to be a player with numerous Cheltenham wins already in the bag.

I really, really like him...and still would even if I wasn't on at a bigger price.

Slowly starting to come round to this way of thinking. Backing him tomorrow for sure

I'd have assumed his edge will be BACK in Novice company rather than tomorrow....

If he's a better horse than Bristol De Mai then I'd make him a short priced fav for the RSA!

Not looked at tomorrows race yet properly and the terms etc but would be a ridiculously strong piece of form if he gets it done?!

I'm just hoping he can jump up with them, at "that pace" and as long as he finishes it should be a good run!

Hes got the best jockey on his back. Puppy will stalk BDM I would think and move up to challenge from the bend into the straight. Good race tomorrow, doesn't always go to the fav.

The most irrelevant of all the stats that one :p

Literally no correlation year to year :highly_amused:

As a backer at 40/1 for this race, I can assure you that I hope you're right...

Whether I back him tomorrow or not, I'm not sure..... I've still not got round to tomorrow yet.

Agree he'd go fav for RSA if he won and deservedly so. Not in GC and can't imagine they'd supplement him with the horses they already have in the Blue Riband.

Tizzard more likely than most to give it a go....

I'd take the stab at 100/1 NRNB if it excisted :highly_amused:

also really fancy Slate House both tomorrow and for this, should i be worried that I really fancy three Tizzard horses in Master Debonair, Slate House and Lostintranslation at the festival? I've always kinda had it in my mind that he's a trainer for Aintree. In fact that before this year I've only ever backed one of his horses and that was Native River both in 2018 and last year

Welcome to the Tizzard fan boi club! I think I fancy around 5 of his this season and some on the 2021 shortlist already :highly_amused:

Slate House hasn't lost much in that run today..... back in novice company is where that experience shoudl help him...he went a PROPER pace today, I think he'll learn a lot from it.

No disgrace in being walloped by a horse single figures for a Gold Cup.

It means Slate House will never be a Gold Cup horse, and he's by no means a good thing in this race.... but I still like the campaigning.... it gives him an advantage in the RSA for me.

Makes a few little mistakes though don't he ?
Would need a very good jumping day to compete IMO

And I'd play devils advocate and say that experience/lesson might not have helped is little horse brain.

Yeah he does.... mt theory is back in novice company it'll all come a little easier to him, therefore improving his jumping.

It could go the other way, I'm just happy to have it as a differential... if he didn't have that potential to improve I don't think he'd be good enough to win... and obviously it's easier to see positives when you're on at 40/1 :highly_amused:

Very scrappy today indeed. Even in a RSA he’ll need to jump much better than that.

Thought he was very poor,if that was Champ performing like that imagine the stick he’d have got!

Slate house won’t be winning here ....... I’ll give you a simple reason why....... He isn’t very good

Take the odds out of it for a second and that today was knowhere near good enough to win this for me,it’s a 3 horse race,Champ Minella Indo with Allaho an outside chance.

If that's the only 3 I'd be very happy.

As allaho looks a JLT horse all day long. And minella indo hasn't been impressive at all.
