RSA Chase 2020

School boy hours 138-140
I'd like to be your bookmaker.

Theres bias and theres realism of a horse at 7/1< for the RSA that has just got easily beaten. And it's pure pure expectation that he will improve enough to vindicate that price.

Where as cod saying this no better race than minella Indos is plain bias. And factually incorrect When you look at both fields.

The fact you are using 7-1< indicates the bias already. :devilish: or you need your specs. More 10/1 available than 7/1 scoobs

Thats not my opinion. He's 135 in Ireland. Fact. We aren't going to go into the old BHA handicapping Irish horses debate are we? We know they add to them when travelling, so i've said nothing wrong here.

What was wrong with 2m4 on heavy ground?
Is it really that unsuitable to a point he'd show absolutely nowhere the level he can?
Which is what his price indicates.

I agree about his price, as noted previously.

But he needs 3 miles for me all day long. And the trip wasn't the only issue either, the other one being that it was his first run of the season, just like he lost his first two races over hurdles before the spring.

...Jedd O’Keefe quoted (Sporting Life) that this is the long-term target for Sam Spinner.

If they went off considerably too fast, he's not one to be dismissed

Vision des flos 155
Champ 152
Black op 152
Dashel drasher 145
Deryan de carjac 143
Monte des avaloirs 137

For me that's a very exciting race. And absolutely no foregone conclusion.

2 rivals for Champ, given he's readily put Dashel Drasher away already. I love Vision Des Flos, from his novice hurdle days, where do you see him lining up currently?

I think hes quality. RSA always been the plan. But could easily go JLT.

He sure is! Didn't actually realise he was running in the race tomorrow :highly_amused:

No prices up for him that I can see!

FWIW I can see champ being beaten. But hope he can get up. VDF is all class imo, and will travel like the winner, if he's not the winner. Black op obviously massively in the mix and wouldnt be surprised at all if he won over the trip.
The others are no mugs inc... Alan kings horse and dashel drasher.

He has worrying festival form though, does VDF, the only thing holding him back for me. Does better elsewhere.

6th & 18th over hurdles. But fences is likely to improve him I think. So could be a different story.

Judging by DD's form he'll be more suited to the 2m4 than the previous meeting with Champ.

Interesting you can see Champ being beaten.

I don’t see how fences are going to make him see his races out any better. He finds very little for pressure.

I wouldn't be surprised if he drops down to 2m over fences at some point, he's not short of pace, and stays the extra, so I couldn't actually rule any of the novice chases out at this moment.

VDF has had wind surgery twice in the last year. I'd like to see some evidence that it has been effective.

I highly rate the opposition, hence already taking a punt on VDF for the RSA itself. Champ will be held up , can he get up to win against what I think are high quality 2 1/2 milers, im not sure.
