RSA Chase 2020

David Jennings on up the ante says that Next Destination is coming back and hopefully will run in December or early Jan, if they cant get him back then they might wait till next season.

Seen one or two mention Laurina should win easily today.
I'd say if she does, then it'll be an impressive start for her.
Minella Indo has solid form, and whilst he might be better in the Spring, they would surely want to start him off with a good run here.
Especially if he's second favourite for the RSA.
2m 4f on heavy should not be too short for him at all, the way he travelled in the bartlett, and punchestown.
And he's available this morning at 11/4 in a match race, with neither having jumped a fence in public.
Might just have 2 points on.

Ben Pauling with an update on the smart Bright Forecast: "He did a piece of work, which led to us doing some tests. The tests showed he had a fibrillating heart. He subsequently went to Newmarket where he had this issue corrected and his heart is now back in rhythm."

Surely Minella Indo bounds out and makes it a proper test today? Laurina might still come there cruising on the bridle but it’s the best way to beat her

I can't help thinking 2m 4f is too short for MI and he'll be beat today.
But, the silver lining might be a bigger price tomorrow for the RSA...

Sorry chaps if your on the Champ double for kauto and RSA this is Nicky from today, doesnt sound too hopeful

"Also not in attendance for a morning in front of the Newbury members was novice chaser Champ, but he’ll be back for the Festival itself where he’ll likely head for the Graded contest over two and a half miles before a crack at the Dipper Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham in the New Year.

So no Kempton outing for him on Boxing Day as things stand, but clearly a horse with the brightest of futures and one which namesake McCoy was happy enough to label “a future Gold Cup horse, with a bit of luck.”

Billy is this still the case? Where was the quote? He's priced this weekend

I see Champ is entered over the 2m4f novices chase G2 on Friday at Newbury, also entered for the G2 just shy of 3m Saturday. Surely Saturday will be the race he runs in? Can’t find any pricing for Saturdays race but is 11/8 fav for fridays race.

I thought that initially as well, would make sense for him to Friday tho, so geraghty can ride

They've already said Friday,

Id have been having a wager on vision des flos without champ. . But it looks to me like he could be going Saturday himself. Then on to the kauto star.

Think i'm the only one who fancies VDF. But I honestly believe he could be the one to beat in the kauto star.

I see, didn’t realise, makes sense then. Would that worry anyone that RSA is the target still? Dropping back 2f from his initial chase debut. Would Birchdales performance over shorter have any baring on Champ still going RSA.

no, Bobs Worth ran in the same race en route to the RSA
Fridays race is tailor made for Black Op

There's no way he drops Champ back after last year he's said time and again he got Champ and Birchdale wrong way round and don't think Birchdales performances will affect where Champ goes this year.
