I wouldn't back him at 1000/1 though in all fairness for a Gold Cup in the next two years (well, ever)

I personally can't envisage a horse that's been a decent hurdler at intermediate trips, who was outclassed at 3m whenever he's tried it, somehow improving to become a top class novice chaser at staying trips - especially when there has been a 2m4f FLAT race win on the way.

He's been to the well too many times to still be improving enough to get involved at Spring Festivals as a chaser for me.

I don't know why Idislike him so much though, he's nto really ever done anything to annoy me :highly_amused:

Not a fan myself, but a strongly run staying race suits (like his second place in the stayers hurdle couple of years ago), he has no gears, but his galloping gear is better than a lot of em, he does remind me of Coneygree to some extent.

She peaks this time of the year Kev, has race fitness on her side and loves it around Newbury. She’ll be in the mix this weekend but most likely making up the numbers in March.

Haha I still think she'd fall short in the spring but she'd deservedly shorten up and I'd be happy hovering over her price ew

I think you'd have to take any horse that comes out on top in this race as a serious prospect for the season IMHO. It looks stacked with solid enough form.
