Royal Ascot

The Norfolk looks a good watch today. Plenty of really nice 2yos. Brave Nation looked super impressive on debut even though he ran green. Did it on bridal and once given a tap he poured away winning easing down. More to come. Reminded me of Bradsell debut win. Bell 2yo horse Maylandsea ran great earlier in week (2nd to Dramatised) as well.

Didn't even twig that Burning Victory was a runner in the Gold Cup ! Her game Caserswitch 2nd last year long sticks in the memory. Said after she could be a Cup horse for Mullins but he then sent her on a ridiculous hurdling campaign which she hated. Back to plan A maybe? Can see both her and Princess Zoe battling it out. They'll both stay every yard.

Why is Mojo Star 18/1 for the Gold Cup? He finished 2nd in a Derby and a Leger behind Adayar and Hurricane Lane, with Leger's being a good pointer for future Gold Cup winners - Stradivarius, Leading Light.

Is it the lack of a recent run that's causing his price to be so big? I know his stamina is unproven but that hasn't stopped Kyprios being so short in the betting

Might not stop Kyprios being so short but will stop him winning :biggrin-new:

Just a lack of run, age and distance for Mojo as you've said. Price is right I'd say. Stick to those that have been the marathon distance would be my thoughts

Hope that bastard Hannigan gets a 6 week ban for that ride in the first. Shocking jockeying

Agree. Impeded 2 horses who both might have beaten the 2nd and improved their place so the 'winner' should have been thrown out and placed 4th no question. Brave Nation wouldn't have win though. He didn't get out unfortunately and that's where he ultimately lost the race.

I'd say he actually impeded 4 horses

And cost the 3rd and 4th any chance of second

If I was their connections I'd be very angry at missing out on that prize money and 0 penalty being given to the wayward horse

Maybe he was the best horse on the day but that doesn't matter if he has sideswiped half the field

If hanagan had dropped his whip and straightened him up would he have definitely won? Far from certain

Sprint race .I blame the Staying horse jocjeys. The stick I gave Kyprios, it was always going to happen . Well done anyone who risked betting him. :hopelessness::congratulatory::congratulatory:

Crispy Cat may well have won. He was cruising and ready to pounce when impeded

Apologies for my reaction and language on earlier post. It was an imotional reaction to Crispy Cat having its race stolen and my biggest bet of the week going sour to jockeying and not the horses ability
