Related Bets (ideas)

Will just post it here for the records when we look back but PP pushing Benie Des Dieux out to biggest priced in the Mares Hurdle and shortest price (fav) for the Mares Chase prompted a lot of us to back:

48.5/1 double - Honeysuckle (7/2) and Benie Des Dieux (10/1)
65/1 double - Concertista (5/1) and Benie Des Dieux (10/1)

This is exactly the kind of bet this thread was started for.

I have both these bets on

Had the first ages ago then got worried after concertista won and put half a point on the second one

Be delighted if they all turn up in those races, a win would be a huge bonus

Yeah the Honeysuckle one is definitely one that people had already backed. Albeit more speculatively than it looks now :)

Fingers crossed!

What's annoying on the Honeysuckle/BDD double is also having it in the book the wrong way around!

For Ricci:

Chacun Pour Soi - 5/1 QMCC
Min - 10/1 Ryanair

65/1 double.... targets are confirmed which is rare for a Mullins duo! :highly_amused:

Can you name 3 horses in front on each?

I think they're a solid each way bet.

This one gets a bit of a test over the weekend!

Still 59.5/1 if anyone is interested :)

I think given CPS’s fragility an ew double is multiplying stake risk on the second line with very little return. Play it as a single I’d suggest.

Yeah I’d go along with that, either the hype is true and he wins every race half the track or he stays in box...

If CPS did win half the track in the QMCC, I wouldn't be unhappy to have the place part still live for Min in the Ryanair.

I wouldn't double the stake and go win only personally - hard enough to land a double.

Very strong place claims for both, strong win claims for both.

For the adventurous,....

If they switched Shewears to Supreme if Ferny injured...then double with Willie Mares Novice other options .....Hook Up, Gauloise, poss Finest

All well over 300s

Although I have just made a point against you on the Supreme thread... I like the idea of this and have had 0.5pts on it.

im such a hypocrite.

note to self: Be better! :beguiled:

Before the JD

713/1 Battleoverdoyen (Ryanair) and Samcro (Gold Cup)

Not exactly a related double....but a related each way six-timer:

Do you know how they are all related?

Be amazing if 3 or 4 made the frame.

Quilixios
Ballyadam
Cayd Boy
The Storyteller
Battleoverdoyen
Sir Gerhard

Answer: They all won at Down Royal on October 31.

Before Gauloise runs on Sunday

Owner Mares Double:

Honeysuckle - 3/1 - Mares Hurdle
Gauloise - 12/1 - Mares Novice Hurdle

51/1 double

Skelton 3 horse in ew doubles and treble
Allmankind
Protektorat
Shan Blue

:encouragement:

Around Feb perhaps we'll have his County Hurdle plot in there, and Mohaayed in the Pertemps!

I worried about the Skeltons a couple of years ago when it seemed they were going for quantity over quality and taking in a number of average cast offs from other stables. It worked for them and they were able to improve them and win races, but they were only ever going to be average horses. It now seems that they have moved on and looked for quality

Might be some merit in a double of CDO to win KG and Cyrname Ryanair

Prob still a question over how well Cyrname stays.....impressive tho he was at Wetherby

If he is beaten, then possible Nicholls switches plan

Also think he will go off fav on Sat.....so maybe worth doing with SP or Sat price
