A good point, I do think that'd be a factor - had forgotten it was true!
 
As a betting proposition, it’s a bit of a nightmare right now for people not on some already (although it seems everyone on here has the big CPS prices) but as a racing fan, this could just be a belter.

Potentially:
- Altior
- Chacun Pour Soi
- Defi Du Seuil
- Cilaos Emery
- A Plus Tard
- Douvan
- Un De Sceaux


Be hard pressed to find a field at the festival in recent years as classy as that if they all made it.

Quite the opposite, if your sitting back and waiting. Also useful to have an unbiased look at it. Seems pretty clear anyone who's backed solely chacun, dislikes defi and altior for no apparent realistic reason.

I think people forget what sort of prices get thrown out on the day in competative championship races.
 
With Altior now confirmed going for this, if he wins Game Spirit and rocks up fit and well I can't see A Plus Tard coming here but do see Defi taking his chance. I still think Altior wins though.

As per last season, I think he needs further than 2m to be seen at his best. Said it about him being a JLT bet when he was 50/1 (don't think I ever mentioned this :highly_amused:)

Despite CPS being beat on seasonal debut DDS still technically has form behind CPS no matter what excuses are chucked out.

And then you've still got Altior to contend who remains unbeaten at the festival and over 2m fences.

It will tougher than what the 4/1 make out it will be IMO.

Not convinced about what he has best this season so far either.

I'm with you here Cod.

There's winning the tingle creek and there's winning the tingle creek.
He hardly won on the bridle or going away.
 
This is far more competitive for Defi than the Ryanair IMO
Altior at his best wins for me but the question is ‘ is he and is he capable of holding off Defi CPS and a fit Cilaos Emery?

JP doesn’t care about the pay cheques but he does like records and I’ve been swayed that Defi will come here and have reluctantly had to bet NRNB with Fred when they opened up
 
Article in the racing post about Henderson declaring altior won’t run at Kempton but still holds an entry.

BHA sending one of their vets to examine altior.

Basically saying he should be declaring him a non runner and removing him from the declarations and not just saying things in statements without actually withdrawing the horse officially.

Sounds like they may suspect some nonsense going on but more than likely nothing will happen.

Absolutely yes to that.

They can advertise their stables, runners etc, through their own channels, not through bookmakers. Always looked like a scandal waiting to happen.
 
Ladbrokes without sponsoring anyone always knew the inside from Coolmore and many others just by accommodating these accounts which amounts to the same end.
Did they not shorten a non runner so to enable a larger rule 4 deduction.
 
All bookmakers have connections to certain stables and act off there info accordingly.

Allowing a trainer to manipulate the public via bookmaker sponsored blogs is completely different to a bookmaker using info to its advantage. Not the same thing at all.

Which is what all major businesses do.

So why do you as the public think its ok to get info to help you as a punter whether via trainer quotes, interviews. Reading tipsters, paying for tipsters, gallop watching, trends stats.

Why should a punter be allowed to seek info to help them but the bookmaker shouldnt?

Allowing a trainer to purposefully manipulate customers is wrong. Trying to find out as much info as possible to give you an edge is fair on both the bookmakers side and the punters side. Its the game.
