Is Barry Connell showing the same confidence about Apples of Bresil on debut as he did Marine Nationale? Any comments from him ??

Been searching this morning to find any substance, all I can find for now is a quote back before Cheltenham on Champ TV interview

When asked for a dark horse to follow later in the season

"Apples of Bresil is a nice horse, graded horse in the making. Probably run in a bumper before end of the season"

Thanks HTO. He's clearly highly rated then.

He is a bit of a birch collector but has a huge engine. Will he get away with those mistakes in a Champion Chase?

Of course he will. Part of his strength is that he adjusts to his mistakes without interference from the jockey. The mistakes simply don't affect his momentum and there's no marks for style in NH racing.

He does have a huge engine and Ruby never missed a beat in saying that he'd beat Energumene next season.

Imagine if he had a clean round.

I think he just has his own way of getting from A to B, never looks like falling.

Absolute Rolls Royce engine on him.

I do hope he turns up 100% and beats Energumene. About time he got some serious challengers. You like El Fab a bit don't you Archie.

He spends very little time in the air aswell which is a huge plus

Ballyburn looked very good. Pleased to have both Ully’s on board for the two longer novice hurdles.

Odd race from Apples of Bresil. Off the bridle very early, looked very keen, yet was never closer to the second (Dancing City) than he was at the finish line.

Will they not stick to 2 miles with Ballyburn after that performance?? Pretty lively ground and he showed a proper turn of foot imo. He looks to be Willie's best Bumper horse. They have certainly minded him. He can only get better. Very exciting.
