PADDY POWER PLATE Handicap Chase

Gavin mentioned the novices race for Path Droux, he is actually a novice.

Yeah, that could be the race for him. Would only back NRNB.

Ignore the chase runs then and just back Gemirande and Il Ridoto haha!

Any novice that has had 4 runs should surely aim for the Plate, I'd imagine it'll be easier to win and over the same course and distance. I'll be trying to identify who that is. Originally thought Moon D'Orange, but if he's going to the novice race I'll have to get my head back into the entries.

Thecompanysergeant still technically a novice?

What do people think of Marble Sands for this good form behind Springwell Bay back on New Years Day then finished 5th to The Kalooki Kid giving him 9lbs at Musselburgh before a spin on the AW. Third behind Ferero Banbo and The Changing Man back in November giving close to a stone to the Changing Man and more than a stone to the winner.

Agree with this. Jagwar would be a banker on the trends if he rocked up against this lot rather than a load of unexposed novices

Apart from on his rating.

Last 11 winners rated between 140-149, misses out by 1lb, not sure even I could be that harsh, and that would allow him to slip through as a bet :encouragement:

A case of shuffling the JP pack.
They couldn't get Waterford Whispers qualified so his only other entry in the Jack Richards is No Flies on Him who's far from certain to get in.
They've clearly been working Crebilly's mark all season and have him 2lb better off than last year so he has an obvious chance in this race so by sending Jagwar to the new race they have two favourites chances...

As we expected money has come for Crebilly. Can see him going off ridiculously short now.

Love the Jagwar/Crebilly Thursday Double. That will prove immensely popular on the day imo.

Still some 8/1 out there, went 7/2 last year so plenty more shortening to happen I'd say when Jagwar is confirmed for the novices race...

....and if Jagwar wins he'll go 7/4

Prefer the Moon D’Orange Gemirande double myself :p who have both won over the course and distance this season.

But I do agree, day punters will see the green and gold as fav and get stuck in.

What about also adding Fact to File for the 'JP Middle Distance Chase Treble' on Thursday

Looks a reasonable shout this and this is exactly the kind of post that could look stupid in a couple of weeks but he's the kind of horse that I wouldn't back now and would expect to be a bigger price on the day.

Also a double with Hot Fuss in the Fred Winter based on a Southwell A/W 1-2 prep is a must :biggrin-new:

and Dinoblue the day after :indecisiveness:

and Kopeck De Mee the day before, or after .... :barbershop_quartet_member:

….Cromwell;

Path D’Oroux is likely to step up in trip to run here (TrustATrader Plate). It’ll be his first time over two and a half miles and we’re hoping that’ll bring about improvement.

“He’s been consistent over two miles but over the longer trip I’m hopeful he’ll be a big player. He’s one I think could be one of our dark horses and might be a good each-way shout.”

….looks like there’s plenty of Oddschecker blue for Ginny’s this morning.

….Path D’Oroux does look nicely in on trends;

Not Favourite (tick)
143-145 hold best record (tick)
Past 6 winners had won at Chelt that season (tick)
At least 5 starts over fences (tick)
Age 9 or younger (tick)

Probably more but I’m on the rum. Trainer says this is the target, 16-1 NRNB, 22-1 AP with 365 & endorsed by Yosser for GA :angel:
