National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2019

It looks to be a done deal at this stage that Patrick will ride him in the National Hunt Chase. He wasn’t entered for any of the other novice chases at Cheltenham, so Patrick must have been in charge of the entries that morning!

:highly_amused:

Been having a look at the more experienced horse for this. Anyone know if Ibis Du Rhea or Cubomania are intended runners? Neither would be “sexy” runners but both have plenty of chase experience

Ibis Du Rheu - Paul Nicholls hasn't committed to yet but has said it's an option, it is his only entry at the festival.

A previous festival winner BUT he looks well held as a staying chaser. I've looked at him a few times.

Cubomania I believe is one for a handicap according to Gordon Elliott on twitter a week or so back

Barry O'Neill rides Discorama in this, according to Paul Nolan today.

So looking like...

Ok Corral - Derek O'Connor
Ballyward - Patrick Mullins
Champange Classic - Jamie Codd
Impulsive Star - Sam Waley-Cohen
Discorama - Barry O'Neill
Ibis Du Rheu - Will Biddick

Only really Lisa O'Neill to slot in? and Codd tocommit to something, but has to be CC?

Looks spot on to me Kev, cheers for sticking that up

Anyone know who could be riding mortal in this

Lisa O'Neill would be my guess, but most of her rides are for Gordon as she works there... so I don't know :highly_amused:
She might be on Blow By Blow

He could, just not sure who would ride...

Barry O'Neill rode for Tizzard last year (3rd on Sizing Tennessee)

Michael Legg rode Native River (2nd)

They are the only 2 Tizzard runners in the last 10 seasons....

Michael Legg had no ride last year... has had 2 runners in last 14 days (For Harry Fry)... so he's still active...

Maybe him?

Legg was Tizzards only option after Derek OConner let him down last minute?? Isnt this why Elegant Escape went to the RSA last year

Yeah ...

The others all look to be tied up though.

Legg or goes for the Ultima/RSA?

Another Nolan inmate bound for the Cotswolds is Discorama.

The six-year-old holds multiple engagements at Prestbury Park, but Nolan is favouring the National Hunt Chase as things stand — with leading amateur Barry O’Neill in line for the ride.

Nolan added: “Discorama is entered in the Grade Ones at Cheltenham and he’s also in the four-miler, and more than likely he’ll go for the four-miler.”

Discorama is also the third highest rated runner .:encouragement:

just backed it at 33's nrnb for JLT.
they might fancy a pop at that now as it looks far more winnable, and should get a good jockey up.
