Absolutely and more likely to go for RSA at this stage as Mullins currently has nothing of note for that race.

Champagne Classic could go off very short for this indeed.

CC should be a short priced fav for this given he has won a listed race easily, btn 1/2L 2nd in a Grade 2, and btn 1L in a Grade 1 and is rated 150+. Good level of fence experience too, and this year needs to be his year now, as a 9yo.

Agree. I'm thinking 2/1 best price should he get there safely. Think a big top up is in order !

Wouldn't take 2/1 about anything in race as you don't know they definitely stay until the day

More good money for Carefully Selected. Pretty much favourite now.

He could also not run.

Im not just saying that because iv backed RSA. I could cash if i wanted.
Very, dangerous game backing him at short prices for the 4 miler. Dosent matter one bit what Gordon says. Its what the owners decide.

I'm done on him. Very rarely back anything below 8's. Think after his last run their minds are made up. This has been his target for a long time now and represents his best chance of a festival victory ( the horse that is). Think they may listen to Gordon sometimes, he does train the bloody things !

Him not being qualified is enough to take the word "good" out of that.

Absolutely staggering his price now.

I assume there is not a single member on here that'd be tempted at the price now about a horse not qualified yet :highly_amused:
...and I know plenty of members are already on at biiiiig prices.

Puts a lot of pressure on not falling or being brought down on his next start, which would need to be 3M or more. If that happened then I think they would leave the race alone, rather than cram in another run in the hope of qualifying.
I mentioned in an earlier post the lack of 3M novice chases in Ireland this month (if a horse has already won at under 3M and therefore can’t run in a Beginners Chase).

He is one of the two I have backed at big odds in the race, so I want him to qualify this month, if possible.

If anyone likes the horse that much, they can get the same price with Skynobets for a/r :highly_amused:

Have to admit he looks a very skinny price but this looks a significant move to me. Seems to have been backed consistently for a while now so I’m sure Mullins will have a plan.

Agree, ludicrous price.....at the moment.

Oh yes, I'm not doubting it's not significant... it's clearly where he's supposed to run.

It's like the gamble on Ok Corral when Derek O'Connot was booked to ride him a bit.

Fine if you spot early, disgusting if you're not.

Carefully Selected was put up by SeanRock an absolute age ago for this race originally then he flipped flopped a bit with the RSA and so like many I’ve covered him for both. Surely can’t back up last season’s pick Topofthegame at 25s with a similar price winner?

Still a bit early to get too excited, price movement suggests this is the target if he can qualify. I’d be pretty confident he’ll stay all day, question would be his jumping. Like many, in a reasonable position in this race with CS, CC, Faugheen (who may well go elsewhere if CS comes here) and potentially Early Doors. I know I speak for a few when I say I was in a superb position last year with the first 3 in the betting covered at 33/1 only for Le Breul to pop up. That said if 2 out of CC, CS and Faugheen line up on the day I’ll be feeling a little more confident than last year

Ruby’s put him up for this say he would be in the know but of course willie decides
