No British runners in Melbourne Cup this year
 
9/2 all gone on Vauban with 365.....best 7/2 now.

Has had quite a severe hair cut in Australia as well. Into 4.8 over there. Assuming that includes the 1 Dollar stake?

The Aussies must be reading Fat Jockey forum :excitement:

Seems like everyone and their dog is on him. Normally means he'll fall out the back of the TV :nightmare: but obviously I hope that jinx doesn't occur for all of us involved :excitement:

No such thing as a jinx. If he's at the top of his game on the day then he'll be very, very difficult to beat. He'll need the luck in running in a big field but that applies to all. I have no doubt he's the best horse in the race. Next season's Ascot Gold Cup horse for sure.

Absolutely the Ascot Gold Cup horse to be on next season. What I'm hoping is for there to be some rain so it's soft to negate anything with a turn of foot, would play into his hands more.

I don't see the ground being an issue either as he was scintillating on quickish ground at Ascot. He has no negatives imo.

PP/Betfair want absolutely nothing to do with Vauban in the Melbourne Cup, cut again today to 11/4. Only Starsports are shorter @ 5/2.
