Melbourne Cup

Charlie has gobbled all the 6/1 up with 365.
Now a best price 5's

Go Vauban!!!

Vauban entered quarantine over the weekend alongside stablemate Absurde

Absurde going as well then. Frankie's 20th attempt at winning the race. I'd prefer him on ours.

Vauban now clipped in to 4's from 9/2 with Hills.

Desert Hero may go to MC with Royals keen for runners in Australia. Another spanner in the works. Handicapper nightmare job.

3 year olds got nice weights on first glance I reckon. Both Desert Hero and Tower of London seemed reasonably treated.

SHARP 'N' SMART The NZ HOTY gets a nice weight and looks a fair each way chance at 25/1

Vauban 55kg/8s6lbs. What I was expecting, genuinely think he'll make a mockery of that, hopefully from the front like Twilight Payment did in 2020. He carried 8s10lbs that day off a mark of 115 which seemed to accurately reflect his ability. Vauban demolished the field at Ascot off a mark of 101 and then pissed up over a trip shorter than ideal off 114. It's impossible not to think his flat mark isn't going in an upward trajectory.

It'd take some real pocket talking to make out Vauban was well in there imo.

He's probably about right but he won't be making a mockery of that will he haha

This thread is all about a heavily weighted bias towards Vauban, did you not get the memo? :beaten::highly_amused:

The entire entry list just seems to be ex British and Irish horses now trained in Australia

One things for sure he won't be getting the easy lead he got at ascot

This is gonna be a very different experience for him

Absolutely thrown in off that. Handicapper has definitely backed him. Beautiful.

If Frankie rides he'd go off odds on I reckon.

It's literally what they do, spend a load of money on geldings, end up making them 10-20lbs worse off all due to them only breeding sprinters
