Mares Novice Hurdle 2020

GYPSY ISLAND form was well stamped today at Cheltenham when Irish runner Heaven Help Us won the 2M Maiden Hurdle from Tizzard and Henderson geldings that we’re fav and 2nd fav.

The trainer called Gypsy Island an aeroplane and he is well placed to know as Heaven Help Us has been beaten three times by Gypsy Island, 13&1/2 lengths, 17&1/2 lengths (Listed race) and 44 lengths (Grade 3).

This follows on from Daylight Katie (5 lengths 2nd to Gypsy Island in the Grade 3 at Punchestown Festival) winning her 15-runner maiden hurdle debut by 26 lengths this month
.

I'd say Daylight Katie deserves marking up for her run considering who she had doing the steering....

One for the trends boys.

All 4 winners have come from france, via pierre boullard to go to mullins.

All 4 have had a run over hurdles by now.

Which leaves.

Lamarckise
Estelle ma belle
Dolcita
Concertista

Just watching back last years festival and I'd forgotten that Concertista was a head bob/photo away from winning the race.

As you know, that was just one run for Mullins... she's "almost" a course and distance festival winner.

I've not got a realistic idea of how she'll progress along with all the others he had and all the new ones coming through, and 12/1 is just on the cusp of being too short for me to back...

I am really tempted though

Kevin Blake giving Gypsy Island the big'un on the ATR jumps season preview.

The best bumper horse last season, boy or girl
or
Could be the best hurdler

Same thing isn't it really. :highly_amused:

I thought he said GI could be the best hurdler this season, boy or girl

Connections need to remember we have some nice 25/1 vouchers for this race, we don’t need her being targeted at one of the G1 races....

Been toying with same.....but just think its too short as well.....plus the form of last year worries me bit, till see more of them race. Tintangle won but not much of race. Hope we don't regret

Was one of my favs to watch though last year.....had a rare punting spark on morning with too much coffee and decided to back all the long-priced Mullins ones on BF as they had not had chance to show form......finish was a lot of fun :)

I wouldn’t be backing GI now, but am on at bigger prices.
Her form of the last race was cranked when Daylight Katie smashed up the field on debut though

And the form will be franked again when daylight Katie wins on Friday at down royal so I don’t see why it would do any harm still getting on now. Only been positives so far even know it’s not jumped a hurdle lol

She has jumped a hurdle, and she was beaten.

Whatever Willie runs
Load up ( you should have already ) on 365 and adjust accordingly as horses run.
Scooby your info here and Triumph re French horses is great
Cheers

Mullin's last years seemed a case of "throwing enough darts" .

Not sure you can crab the form?

Eglantine Du Seuiil- ran to a higher rpr vs the geldings in a G1.

Indefatigable won next time.

Elfile- Ran a cracker from off the pace vs Honeysuckle. Then won easy at Punchestown.

albeit with a terrible ride..
Don't think it was all that bad, she was pretty keen + is held up in bumpers generally.

Regardless of the ride i'd still have expected her to have won. Especially knowing what we do now about her.

Some of you are on great prices, but she'll definitely be one i'll be taking on.

Really like the Glancing Queen for this but think i read somewhere or heard that shes had a slight hold up and wont be out till nearer xmas. Id imagine by then some others will of put down a marker and BF exchange might be offering some attractive prices.

🙏🏻 Hope blue sari for JP goes to the supreme and doesn’t send GI to it

This is from the ATR stable tour with Willie "Blue Sari will go novice hurdling this season. I would see him as more of a staying type and I think he’ll handle any ground."

Is Salsaretta still a novice :highly_amused:

Added Mount Ida at 33s with 365 to my book. Was impressed at weekend and hopefully she is a good one

I read that too , and thinking Blue sari more likely to go Ballymore ,.
although i see someone has added the Al Bartlett too.
Given Blue Sari only finished 3/4 length behind Envoi Allen in the Bumper.
- 25-1 for B.S in the B/more seems like well worth a punt.

Last post should have been on the Ballymore thread !., Haven't backed any horse for this race yet ,.
Will wait till nearer the time. G.I look's good though.
