Mares Novice Hurdle 2019

Dislike the lack of love for Salsaretta :disgust::highly_amused:

Awful run and the one after imo. Was an awful race too bar the winner. I'd be completely shocked if she was. But you never know.

Why Awful?

Without watching it back, if she hadn't of fell she would have placed? doubt she was fully tuned up as the idea was to keep her as a novice this year due to laurina.

Then what's the reason behind 22L behind Laurina?

Beaten by a few average mares there too.

Don't get me wrong, i see the view- follow Let's Dance route but she had serious juvenile form, whereas Salsaretta last year didn't look to have. Her 2 mile win this year is terrible form, she did it easy so that's fine. Her 2m4 win looks good, but FD was over a trip not suitable for a nutcase like him + the ground.

I think we was watching different races. She went and ran again after that too.

Chelt

took keen hold, in touch when mistake 1st, soon mid-division, headway before 2 out, 18 lengths 6th when fell last

Fairyhouse
beaten 22L some poor horses infront.

soon chased leaders, 3rd at 3rd, left in lead from 7th, joined from before 2 out, soon headed and no extra, one pace

She ran OK, nothing more nothing less.

If you watched a horse you'd backed, be scrubbed along 18l beaten and fell.

Then well beaten again by some bang average horses rated in the 120s.

.you'd think that was an ok performance with a 2 mile grade 1 ahead?

Also worth noting Cheltenham was her 4th and fairyhouse was her 5th run over hurdles So I don't buy the inexperiance angle personally.

Always assumed the Solerina was a grade 3.

Her short head behind D'Vina is not bad French form to bring to the table.

On her 2 runs prior to her maiden win, she went to the festival purely for experience, same with Punchestown. 2 weeks prior to the festival last year there was another Mullins stable tour and he was quoted as follows "Salsaretta, people keep asking about her. She didn’t even go to Clonmel the other day so I doubt she’ll go to Cheltenham." TBH I'm surprised she even went.

I do think she will need a trip in time but hoping they make the most of her stamina at the festival and go from the front, then I'd have no complaints.

Fairyhouse is a grade 1.
Albert bartlett grade 1.

Mares nov grade 2 ( but looks too short imo)

Would make sense for Salsaretta to go for the solerina, whether that makes her number 1 for this race depends if WM can get a maiden into Chante Niege or someone else.

This year won't be a year for following the usual preferred route.

I know what i want but there's so many it could be.

Did you forget Colreevy?

Surely the entries to the Solerina must be out soon?

9 entered by 8 owners and 8 trainers do Mullins can have a maximum of two, sticking to the trend it should be pretty easier to decide on his hotpot and where to put the money

Its good ground at Fairyhouse at the moment, Be interesting who WM has entered.

There are a couple of maiden mares hurdles at Fairyhouse 13th February and Clonmel 14th February.
