Mares Novice Hurdle 2019

I've added Buildmeupbuttercup as well at 16/1 before she runs today. Won't be having a bet in the race today, and it's a little risky but on balance I've decided to back her here. She's not my idea of the winner right now, but come the day, there won't be many mares with a grade 1 against the boys on their CV.

She just has to win now, of course.

I think we can take some comfort that she hasn't been at the yard for very long and we all know how he can improve one. Not that her previous form was very bad at all, including RPRs of 96 and 94 on the flat so clearly has an engine.

Looked to blow out when set to win easily on hurdling debut. She'll come on for the run I'm sure, and market support is telling even with Ruby not on.
 
buttercup was that bad that probably won't be on the boat.
the two most exposed horses in first two makes it a bad race for me.
although felix looked well enough.

Different trip. Took her all of 2m4 to get up and FD is well held at the top level. However it's still good to see him win in regards to her future aspirations
 
Was only pointing out an obvious fact/form line that is accessible to every one :) I've got both Chante Neige & Daphne Du Close covered too anyway.

FWIW Scooby, I agree, she probably will lack the pace for this overall but I am happy to be sitting on 33's in hope for at least a place, with the chance of a win. Hoping they make the most of her stamina and send her off in front.

She's certainly shown more form in Ireland, as it stands, than Chante Niege, and in the UK, Daphne Du Clos (although due out next week).

Well that went well. Mullins stable continues to perplex me this year :confused:
 
I like DDC but I wont be backing her until I see her run. 6/1 is way too short for a horse that hasn't been seen in nearly 2 years. Good luck to those on at bigger prices. I will hang fire at the moment. I am more than happy with Salsaretta at 33/1 and 25/1.

Any news on my other one Colreevy?
 
Having not bothered with Epatante after her win early doors , i lazily checked the form and seen all behind her lose including the 2nd(Ey up rocky) off 113 and thought that doesn't read well even thou she won easily granted . Looked a little deeper today and the race Ey up rocky ran 2nd in iv'e noticed Flash the steel has form ties easily into the 130s so maybe not as bad as i feared. Still can't help think there is better to emerge in this division . :confused:

Yeah, was a risk - I had 1.5 pts ew, so feels like a 3 pt loss on her to win today and I suppose theres a small chance she still turns up and wins.

I haven't cashed out, price won't do anything for a while and maybe she can bounce back.

Bit of a numbers game and this one has missed the mark, but I essentially think the theory was right.
 
Very much looking forward to seeing Daphne du Clos, but seems slightly mad that she has virtually halved in price simply because she's had an entry!

We assume because of the entry, she could just be expected to bolt up by connections, wouldn't be the first time the Henderson yard have filled their boots prior to a horse running :devilish:

Also excited to see her run too though :)
 
For all this race received a lot of stick when it was added, its shaping up to be a fascinating and pretty decent looking renewal.
 
Meant to add, will also be interesting in more ways than one to see how she fares on Good Ground, being by the same sire as Laurina.

Depends whether those horses would have run in the Supreme or Ballymore with an allowance :p :devilish:

It does look a deeper renewal than before, although plenty still to run!

Yes I'd forgotten that actually, certainly a decent side note to try and take from the race.

What other notable progeny has she got?
 
Any idea when the entries will be posted for the Solerina?
 
Not a race I like to get hugely involved in but seems like there's juice to be had somewhere here. I can't get a handle on Mullins at the moment so considering two others, both around 12/1:

1) Posh Trish (Nicholls) - plenty of racing/experience and wins will make her sharper than most in this race, a tough battling type that I can really see bringing it to the table in a finish. Could definitely win if there is no star.
2) Honeysuckle (HDB) - 3/3 so far, bolted up by 12L on debut where the runner up Moscovite has won both races since, and she also has won her next start.

Of the two Posh Trish stands out in what could be a weak year as a solid ew shout. Honeysuckle definitely the one that has more potential improvement.
 
I think I remember watching an interview with Paul Nicholls and it was sort of regarding flatter tracks and making hay whiole the sun shines with Posh Trish.

Don't take my word on it though because it is just from memory and I doubt I'd be able to find it... it was before she ran at Newbury (or perhaps after she won?)
