J.L.T Novices Chase 2019

Struck me as a JLT horse today. She'll jump off and try to run them ragged. Try to do what Vautour did in the Ryanair. The encouraging thing was the way she ran through the line today. Beat not much but did it in good style.

I hope she does set a decent pace as, if my bet on Lostintranslation is to land, it will need to be a stamina test.

La Bague Au Roi was on Tuesday a top-priced 2-1 behind favourite Delta Work for her Leopardstown assignment, and 8-1 for the JLT Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

Greatrex said: "She will have entries in the JLT and the RSA, the JLT is the preference. We will get Ireland out of the way first, I have always said Cheltenham is not her track but things can change.

"I think the owners would love to have a go at Cheltenham, but we will make a plan after Ireland.

Seriously thinking of backing the mare for the JLT - Who'd have thought it ??
Definitely improved over fences and probably has the beating of The current Fav, with a lot of the others high in the betting likely to go elsewhere.
And already have Vindication 33s, Camelia De Cotte 50s and Kildisart 33sNRNB ew - all 2 points.
But may go bigger on the mare depending on if I go NRNB or AP.
Wouldn't fancy her in the RSA though.
Will probably wait till next friday before Dublin.

Saw the interview with Greatrex on Sky racing, Sigh. What a flakey trainer. Wouldn't want any ante post tickets with his horses.

It was the MNR Christmas review podcast.

Cheers FM I passed this on had it confirmed that this was completely inaccurate regards Vinndication. It sounds like a decent podcast but that is a seriously poor piece of info to pass on to listerners bearing in mind ‘RSA or nothing’ is not quoted by the trainer anywhere. My guess is that it was misinterpreted from the already poorly quoted RP article. This isn’t to say the RSA isn’t still a possibility of course but it isn’t the first choice is still what I am being told

Cheers for the info RC. I was seriously close to cashing out my bet after listening to it. Glad I didn't now.

Any line on how they feel Jerrysback let the form down?

Haha...i’m asking questions through my mate so don’t want to be too much of a pest, will get him to check in again next week

Probably not worth wasting a question with that to be fair... I know the possible answers and they don't really make a difference :highly_amused:

....ahead of it’s run on Saturday, i’ve had a little interest in Kildisart @ 33-1 NRNB for this.

Can't put my finger on exactly why but to me Greatrex comes across as unlikable.

I know what you mean there is somethig not likeable about Greatrex, I think he tries too hard to be fair and straight. Bit like yesterday when he looks for points in advising the punters that he is not running a horse at Chelts and now will take up the planned Huntington race. The thing is it was never running, all he did was mess up the anti post market and get punters excited about a potential clash.

Vinndication entered in both proving the ‘RSA or nothing’ trainer quote never existed :)

Last year's winner turned out ok!:very_drunk:

Good shout. Took the 25s

Yes I was pleased with that run and this race seems to be the target. Still around 20's so I'm considering topping up as, if he shows up with Ruby in the saddle - highly likely given he's WPM's only realistic hope - and the race cuts up as many expect, he'll likely go off single figures.

I’ve put Winter Escape into a few multis this evening. Impressed by his run lto and looks a decent ew bet at 14-1, sea of blue on oddschecker for the Flogas as well.

See Vinndiication is entered in both the Scilly Isles over 2m 4f and the Towton Novices Chase at Wetherby over 3 miles both on Saturday. Looking at Kim Bailey's Twitter account he name checks the Scilly Isles adding he is expecting rain later in the week. Do we think if he takes up that engagement he'd be unlikely to step him to 3 miles for the first time in the RSA if heading to the Festival?
