Kargese 16/1 nrnb for the mares chase is a no brainer. Unlikely but a setback for dinoblue or spindleberry could change things. If spindleberry was out for example paul might see an opportunity to be on both her and kopek if they went different ways.

No risk on what would be a short price if she did turn up.
She'd only have a sneak on Good ground and even then I'd expect something to outstay her.

How are people feeling about their bets/ positions now we’re only a few weeks out ?. Personally I’m behind in the number of bets placed from previous years but I think that’s because I haven’t generally bet as much as before, probably lost a bit of interest but can feel the fez getting closer and really looking forward to it now.

They don’t have a number they release! I went through live chat - I’m travelling in the car at moment. Will try to get more info later.
So I am assuming that you got them to call you which would be an achievement in itself. I don't think I have ever come across a useful live chat.

In about 3 weeks I will have my usual meltdown about how crap my book is. Reviewing my book, my main takeaway is I need Kopek to win, that will take care of a lot, it will start the festival well for me and also opens up alot of my multis. I'm 100% against Lulamba so we will see how that tactic plays out.

Aside from that, my bet365 account got hacked before Christmas, so I have an 88 page document of all of my bets from March through to December that I will be going through with a highlighter on the Saturday after the festival to check if I have missed any winners that I need to contact them to ensure they pay me out for. Should be a thriller.

So im nervous for tomorrow. What will we know and when? Does everyone have like a few bullet points of things to check? What exactly happens again tomorrow . So yes handicap entries get revealed - but what actually will we see apart from X going crazy.

I've compose a list of horses Im looking out for in each race

my "book" is terrible, but tbh is so small this year that if I got a run for my money from like 4 of them I'd classify it as good entertainment

Not used to betting much in shop so a question for people who do - how much could I put on a short enough priced horse for cheltenham right now nrnb with no questions asked? As in no ringing traders or asking for ID or anything like that.

Let's say i went in to back majborough or marine nationale for the champion chase nrnb tomorrow with paddy power or ladbrokes. Are we talking 500 quid or 1k no problem or even 2k or 5k or something?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this meltdown. I also really need Kopeck to win so fingers crossed.

I bet in shop r.r. . I would hazard a guess and say Less than 500 quid. .. ( I am thinking Coral specifically . ). 👍.
Got r.f.t. last year for less than 100 , A/P chelt bet . but was accepted in no time ... seconds .. 👍.

They'll refer you for a lot less than that.

Soz, should have read BC's reply. What he said....

If you want a bet of £500 they will take you through the safe gambling lecture, they'll take your name, address etc and no doubt you are added to a regulator database of people 'at risk'.
It's a joke.
I'm told the machines re-set every 10 mins so if you were to have £400 and are prepared to stick around for an hour you should be able to repeat the bet a few times.
If you want to bet in the thousands then shops are not your answer, black market is your go to or just wait until the day and bet in the ring.
At a meeting like Cheltenham there's never been an issue with having a proper sized bet and because the industry has done its' best to prevent punters from getting on with online/high st bookies the ring is actually getting stronger, 5 years ago most rings were graveyards but even weak rings like Lingfield, Wincanton, Warwick are good now, far more business is done than 5/10 years ago....

If it's any help ,re the S.S.B.T's . - self service betting terminals .
There are usually at least 4 to 6 in the shops. You could load 100 and bet move to another machine and load 100 , bet e.t.c.
Not certain , but maybe a way to get a bigger bet on ??.

Take a trip to a town/city that you know has a collection of bookies and split the bet up between the different shops in smaller increments. It’s a pain but drip feeding your bets is the only way to get on without interrogation

Not sure this is an option. They have cameras in the betting terminals and use facial recognition. They'd soon stop you.

Depends on the company and what sort of jobsworth you get serving you but would imagine getting £1000 on a shortish priced fav at Cheltenham shouldn't be a problem. Would have to be sent off and approved and may get the old "are you sure" question but should be ok. Just don't keep going to the same shop if looking to get more on. It's not as though you are trying to get £1000 on a big price at a pokey midweek all weather meeting!
