Apologies if this has been explained previously but what is the argument for guests to be allowed to roam the forum? What would we lose if it were members only? Sounds like we have spies and rogue individuals here that affect the antepost market and the odds we can get so unless they add value would it be harsh to lock it down and only have vetted members?

At what point do we know it's the right moment and want to close it off forever and make it a secret society?

There are members areas 'away' from the lurkers ...

The mentality you're asking about, if we'd have said that in 2020, you'd not be here....

and so on ...

If it was content being paid for I'd be open to closing it of course, but I don't see it as a problem myself...

Thoughts welcome

Cheers

Might be worth rolling them both up E/W with something like Teahupoo. If they both go, you would think one would win and one would get you some cheeky E/W skullduggery on the other.

Not sure about rolling them on to anything as nothing standing out, but as a stand alone idea, 6/1 and 8/1 don't look terrible to dutch :indecisiveness:

At 8/1 Fastorslow really is a very fair price if lining up, can see why YoungHustler would be so keen

I don't feel I need to rush in to backing him but that 8/1 standout price is just low hanging fruit :strawberry:

*5 pts e/w Fastorslow at 8/1
Couldn't help it.

Anyone bothered pricing up Iberico yet for the Arkle or Turners...

Min The Merciless just seen Josh Stacey’s tweet now as well.

Is it just me or anyone else that seen it not think it could be taken as a worry for Constitution Hill that Sir Ginos decision may be based on how he does in the Fighting Fifth?!

Unless Josh has picked that up wrong.

There must be some doubt as to how he performs on his return taking into account what he went through last season regardless of how good he looks now. Sir Gino was cleary an above average juvenile last season and could well join the Champion Hurdle party.

For any Iroko fans

"I can confirm Iroko will return to action on November 3rd in the Colin Palmer Chase at Carlisle over 2m4f. The season target is the Grand National & Cheltenham may not be on the agenda this time around."

I'd say that's a wise move by JP given all the weapons at his disposal this season.

Think they have already mentioned the Hennessy as a potential target as well, the timing of which would fit in nicely with a return at Carlisle.

Wouldn't be unlike JP to send one of his to the Ryanair on his way to the Grand National.

My thoughts as well. JP has an army of classy chasers to go to war with this coming season.

Little bit of money for Sir Gino on Exchange today

Doubt enough that you’re holding another horse back though? One that has the current champion hurdler in the same ownership?

Like I said could be nothing, but by all accounts last season was all precaution imo because of what was going on in his yard. He didn’t have colic etc, he was likely suffering from the same issues Nicky’s other horses were.

Does anyone else get redirected to some scammy looking pop up web pages when trying to log in to FJ?

Kevloaf any idea? New revenue model perhaps? :abnormal:

Touchè. I don't have an issue due to my strategy this year so was just sticking my neb in really.

Guests could have a trial period to see if they like the place and then after a set time they have to join or jog on. I guess the right moment is when a fair number of members believe the spies are affecting their AP positions too adversely. The topic keeps arising because of something.

Not seen it myself?

What does it link to?

I think it's about this time that some of the certificates need renewing so it's probably my fault somehow :cower::loyal:

The problem we have is that anyone could sign up and unless somebody wanted to actively monitor peoples activity .... anyone could sign up and just get access to all the info

I try to screen everyone but ultimately anyone can just lie can't they and 'steal' peoples work..... but that's no different than anywhere really...

Unless we did really ramp it up a notch ... but I assume there are other parts of the web that would cater for that... or private groups etc

Not a problem you bringing it up at all mate, just because something has happened for a long time doesn't mean it's right and I'm open to suggestions

I'm heavily invested in Constitution Hill already as well but I don't take it as a positive that they are already looking for improvements and precautionary measures for a horse that's previously been so much better than everything else... it could be nothing like Hendo says but I am just slightly suspicious of it

Yup, made him my max antepost bet a few weeks ago for the CH, and I’m in the same thought as you

I’m not a huge fan of wind ops where a horse is supposed to be at the top of his game. Nicholls or Skelton giving a 140 handicapper a wind op after a bad run, before a big race, yeah… I see it a plus. But for a horse like Con Hill, hmmmmm

im ok to leave my position as Con Hill will likely face 150 hurdlers in the fighting fifth and the fixture on Boxing Day. Doubt we’ll see whether he’s near his top mark until the Champ Hurdle where he’ll likley face State Man (who I think will have declined slightly next season) and Lossiemouth, but at this stage, I think she’ll end up in the mares unless the other two are absense

either way… hmmmmm

I'd be in the opposite camp. Do not like wind ops. Don't believe they'd just do it for the sake of it.
