Hahahaha rollercoaster afternoon already. Heart rate been doing somersaults for a while.

I’m a cautious enough punter and boy was I glad I hadn’t put too much on him reading through that.

Nice he’ll still be able to run there and with a good chance even off 145... not quite as good a chance as School Boy Hours though :playful:
 
The extra furlong in the Kim Muir and it being on the new course would swing this race over the Ultima I'd imagine

He didn’t qualify for the Musselburgh race as he hadn’t ran in 3 chases before last Saturday, which was a race condition,
Didn’t stop the BHA handicapper rating him 140, and increasing it to 145 from next Tuesday, right on the limit for the Kim Muir,

I get where you come to that escaria figure but I personally think you have to take all runs into consideration, he did nothing over hurdles, the horse he beat on his 2nd start has been beaten 60L since, his last run was a marked improvement so I think the 5 pounds they have given him is fair, taking into consideration what he has done in all. Wiukd be very harsh to go nuts on 1 run, as it would be to drop column of fire for the 1 single bad run. You have to look at the whole picture and find a middle ground.

Think hes done a good job.

Yep, a couple of pounds one way or the other off such little evidence is fair enough.

Not sure the British trainers would agree though. That he's done a good job.
 
What got me was why would the BHA guy say "he can race 5lbs well in" when the horse (Escaria) isn't qualified to run.
 
Escaria Ten now back up to 12/1 on B365.... got on at 10/1 as missed the boat on bigger prices... been fun reading through the posts here.

It was as low as 7/1 with B365 earlier, don’t think the bookies know what to do here:uncomfortableness:
 
I was in quite a.good mood when i took the 16s on Escaria and went back to work, not so much now. No cash out. Little lie down i think.

He's just saying that as a blanket comment isn't he, that if he did run, he'd be 5 lbs well in this week.

He can't run in that specific race because of number of runs, but that doesn't affect the 'mark' and when it falls etc.
 
If I'd cashed out at 16/1 I'd definitely be re-backed at 12/1.

I also wouldn't ignore Run Wild Fred at the same price.

Even Roaring Bull at a bigger price than either.

Crazy afternoon... RWF could be the bet here @ 12/1 with B365 and Roaring Bull @ 33/1 with NRNB with PP and 5 places as Kevloaf has mentioned.

I have followed a few in on School Boy Hours @ 33/1 with B365. An interesting player in this. Certainly worth a poke at 33/1. PP at 14/1 with NRNB too skinny for me.

Being a bit miffed that I cashed out my 16/1 got me thinking. What if the Irish handicapper gives the horse 146 next week does ours stay with 145? Asking for a friend!
 
Yes stays the same unless collateral form changes it, the UK handicapper claims they keep their own separate marks for each horse
