He has been highlighted in the Irish Race Planning thread in the Members Diaries as the key horse for the Diary race being run tomorrow.
The Kim Muir is the race for him, if he runs well enough to get in.

He has been running over the wrong trip, mid-trips and not 3M or more. :eagerness:
 
....lots of mentions for Braeside, but I can’t see it any of the a/r markets, be good to get it priced up. 16-1 with PP for this.

Punitive is interesting too. Ran in the same race behind FD. HDB said that he expected him to make a chaser after showing progression as a hurdler. He has been entered 3 or 4/times recently and withdrawn each time so I am not sure what the plan is. I have him in my tracker and he is in hills any race market (33s last time I looked). He might just be one to keep an eye on nto.

Run wild Fred up 4 to 140. He should be safe off that you’d hope, but it’s not beyond realms of possibility he’s not depending how vindictive the British handicapper is feeling. Be top weight or very close if getting in.

Very tricky for the UK handicapper.
Gave Dallas des pictons 12lb extra.
But an extra 5lb is common place.
If he gives this 6lb, is that just to be annoying ?:highly_amused:

It's not like Run Wild Fred is the same as Dallas Des Pictons was though, RWF hasn't really shown anything, it's just a 'normal' plot. 6lbs would just be spiteful and long-term damaging? :highly_amused:


The average is 3lbs isn't it? 5lbs would be fine.... :applause:

That's about right, and fair, i said 139 -140. if anything maybe 1 pound more than they could have. I'd be astonished if the uk takes him over.

As I commented before, I think he has been campaigned fairly and has a fair chance, at the likely 143 or 144 he gets. I dont think he is miles well in, and it would be ridiculous for the uk handicapper to slap him higher. With the ammount of runs he has had over fences.
 
I want him here the same as everyone else, but I'd say the UK handicapper is sure to push hin over 145 given the amount of times Elliott had his trousers down last season.
 
Anything more than 5lb would be incredibly harsh since the horse has already shown his hand finishing second in one of the biggest handicaps in Ireland

not like he has just been a non trier out the back in graded races like some Irish plots

I'd happily take the bet he is under. He hasn't never gone for a chelt handicap, or a chelt race, there is absolutely no reason to slap him over. Just because hes a horse trained by gordon. Gordon gets loads In fairly, the ones he dosent have been in previous festival HANDICAPS

On form lines he wouldn't be well in, you are correct, especially with a horse I like, School Boy Hours, who is 33/1 for the race.

If RWF has been campaigned fairly, as you note, then SBH finishing ahead of him twice off levels and now with a 5lb weight advantage too (on Irish ratings), is much better handicapped than RWF.

Just hope this is the plan for SBH.

Yep, it was mainly to demonstrate that he is capable of throwing one. A Pie that is.
6lb wouldn't be a big slap in the face, more of a dig in the ribs.

Ahh I expect improvement from RWF, dont get me wrong. Just think he improves with running... head gear on.. freshen him up, he can run to a higher mark for sure.

but what he has done to date has been fair. he has had plenty of runs, then finished 2nd in a big handicap, you handicap on what you have seen, and we have seen plenty. Not a plain guess on what he can achieve and may do with a career best. As a current career best shown, shows he should be able to run here and be in the race no issue under 145.
