Foxhunters 2019

Not sure how many of you get tht ptp updates off Declan Phelan via Mark Howards - One Jump Ahead, but in the email i received today it states Gilgamboa has been hit with a setback and it will be a race against time to get him fit for the spring festivals .

Assumed it would be the case as stand up and fight has the entry hed have had.

Did they say why he's been out so long as he's missed Aintree and punchestown plus the Tetratema at gowran. All 3 were targets.

Afraid id doesn't say anything specific thou it did touch on "Stand up on fight" obvs having this entry as a result and being only 6 will be tested severely etc

Stand up and fight
His open has worked out very well.

Kruzhlinin has beaten trees as of yet.
Should be a good, informative race.

Just posting what he said but yeah the form looks positive, tbh it's not a race i take serious interest in . Was just sharing that he's had a setback.

Stand Up And Fight heads Down Royal twelve for Stephens Day

A field of 12 runners will line up for the second hunter chase of the season, as the Toals Bookmakers Hunter Chase, one of the first big races in the division, takes place at Down Royal on St. Stephen’s Day.

Last month’s impressive Dromahane winner*Stand Up And Fight*heads the line-up, as he looks to follow in the footsteps of his stablemates General Striker, On The Fringe, and Gilgamboa, by winning the race for the Enda Bolger team.*

*

The six-year-old, who skipped his engagement at Corbeagh House earlier in the month, brings some high-class track form to the race following his runs in Graded company as a novice, and he will have the assistance of Derek O’Connor, for what will be his first start over racecourse fences since finishing fourth behind Demi Sang at Naas in January 2017.

*

His biggest opposition is likely to come fromSizing Coal*and*Kruzhlinin. The former finished third in last year’s renewal before going on to win the Joseph O’Reilly Memorial Hunter Chase at Fairyhouse later in the spring. Mark O’Hare is now aboard Jim Dreaper’s 10-year-old.

*

Kruzhlinin is already a three-time winner this season, following a number of very comfortable victories in open company, however they have come in a number of small-field races, ensuring the former Grade 3 winner, who is now with Gordon Elliott, has yet to be fully tested. Barry O’Neill, whose services have been called upon by both Elliott and Henry de Bromhead for a number of other interesting mounts on the day, is once again aboard the 11-year-old.

*

Former Paul Nicholls inmate,*Coastal Tiep, has been unbeaten in two starts for the Stuart Crawford team, and he will look to bring up his hat-trick this season following earlier successes at Loughanmore and Kirkistown, with Ben Crawford once again in the place for the Jetmac Syndicate.

*

Cork winner*Carrignagapple, and last season’s Bishopscourt Cup victor*Alpha Male, are two of the other hunter chase winners among the line-up, whilst former champion point-to-pointAnseanachai Cliste, who finished seventh on his return between the flags at Borris House earlier in the month, also feature in the line-up.

*

The field is completed by*Samsara, Call Me Bubbles, Milan Flyer, Puff My Pistons*and*Nevada Rose.

Took a chance he wins tomorrow which his form entitles him to Do, or atleast goes very close at
35/1 any race.

Shantou flyer 35/1 (any race)
Stand up and fight 35/1 (any race)

Hopefully that will do me for this race.
Iv either a huge hand or 2 nrs time will tell. But risk and reward at the prices.

Coastal Tiep looked a biggish price to me, but its a very competitive race. One i'll probs just watch as i'm there.

Scoob is the 33/2 any race SF still available? I looked last night and couldn’t find it

Stand up and fight been smashed in today from 3/1.
His open is by far the best form in the race and hoping he duly obliges. Could go from 35/1 to straight fav for this if he's as impressive as he was in his open. The opposition is no better.

Delighted with that.

Derek O'Connor on Stand Up And Fight
@Downroyal
: "He was deadly. He's a very nice horse. He had good form over hurdles and they have chosen to go this hunter chase route. I'd say he could be a little bit special."

Did they well didn;t he. Well highlighted/punted.
