FJ Day One Festival Yankee - Manager Leman14

I would like to suggest Foxtail Hill @ 10s best price in the Close Brothers Novice Handicap being a value price for this yankee, confirmed by NTD today and carries course form beating Saphir Du Rheu LTO

Thoughts?

I agree, despite liking Squouateur for this, Foxtail Hill is a very decent price, taking into account not just his win but the manner in which that form is also working out, he hasn't gone unnoticed by myself.

COD cheers, sometimes the festival throws me a million and one different angles and I convince myself that a donkey will go well because of something read elsewhere on the main sports sites.

Thank god for this forum! Keeps it real with no arguing. Top bunch of people involved :triumphant:

This is from the bets thread - 7s ew without Altior.

BEN PAULING Horse: A Hare Breath Race: Arkle Best odds: 50-1

Pauling has have several live contenders in the novice events but seems insulted by the odds being offered against A Hare Breath landing the Arkle. The nine-year-old won in good style on his chasing before being beaten at short odds at Doncaster last time. “He goes to the Arkle,” Pauling said. “Whether or not that’s the right decision we will soon find out. His jumping has got better and better. Doncaster was a muddle of a race. I expected Marracudja to go a million [miles per hour] but he didn’t want to go very fast at all that day and we got left in front six from home. It turned into a sprint and we got outsprinted. Altior looks head and shoulders above the rest and we can avoid him if we want, but if we get him into the places in an Arkle it would be brilliant. At 50-1 he’s a bonkers price. Other horses he’s either beaten, or been just beaten by, are 16-1 and 20-1. He’s in great form and the thing massively in his favour is he loves the track. His form around here is very good. All he wants is a fast run race – he will get it – and it means we will be able to ride him how we like to ride him, which is to come late.”

Will Mall Dini get in the Ultima? Noble Endeavour is in plenty of mine since last week :encouragement:

Less than a week to go now.

Starting to edge towards Ballyandy for the Supreme. Course/festival form, I think that the UK form is stronger than the Irish form and given that Moon Racer hasn't seen a course since November, I think that he can improve passed him in a more strongly run race.

So... unless I get widespread criticism, Yanworth and Ballyandy are looking likely...

Does anyone know when we are likely to get "confirmed" jockey bookings? and will the handicap fields thin-out later this week at the 5-day declaration stage?

I think it is 48 hour decs for grade 1s. The handicaps will still be a bit of a mystery to final decs.

Plenty of time for injuries, and recoveries, yet, so unlikely to be more than suggested rides for lots of jocks at the mo

I like -

Charbel W/O Altior at an each way price. Horse that has been closest too him before and nothing to fear from Ireland (If HdB had one good enough he wouldn't run 3)

Noble Endeavour - preview circuit and a lot of love for Davy Russell/Gordon ....(although mainly down to preview circuit)

Yanworth - I think it was me who made the case for this grafter. Mark Walsh's first ever festival winner ?

Champers On Ice - All in?

Potters Legend - jono's hard work

Only a few days left before these need to finalised fellas....

FYI - I also received an update from the Pipe yard and a good mention on COI for the 4M. So we have good info from Mr mulligan as well.

They also mention MR is in good form and more likely to go for CH, and also they are really happy with Starchitect's weight and most likely to go for the Plate, needing a few to come out.

Looking forward to this one lads! Lets Get the week off to a flyer

I am keen to get COI in the Yankee and if it is def 4m over Ultima (and his other 3 entries) that could well be 3 of the 4 pencilled in...

That is interesting. I thought he was a grand annual player! (Star)

Champers On Ice or Potters Legend for me, happy with either but sounds like COI should be a given :encouragement:

Id be happy with both!

Sounds like an E/W yankee today then?

Yanworth HAS to be in it in that case? Be just less than evens to double up any of the others... with a fair chance of winning...?

Charbel without each way ?
Noble Endeavor I still like

My 4 would be the same as yours i think Kev,

Noble Endeavor
Yanworth
Champers on Ice
Potters Legend
