Fat Jockey Yankee's - Captain's Required!

Is there a list of prominent/regulars contributors who have not yet been a captain?? And if you’ve changed your name can you have another go??

How about the top 4 in the betting comp Diamond Geezer is running are captains this year? They are clearly in form and performing well?? It could be a reward for getting to the semi finals?

I'd be happy to do so, and I'm humbled by the nominations, but I think this is a great idea suggested by TKP.

Its something I'd recommend to any new member to do. Its a really fun experience and it really brought me into the community here.

Mine had the classic single winner :frown-new:

They have reward enough in getting further than me and you. That should live with them until their final days...

I like that it's for new members, I was one once and enjoyed it when I was captain. One of only 2 to have ever made a profit I think - the bar isn't set very high :loyal:

I would highly recommend it :love_heart:.., and I picked a winner and a placed horse ..

And i don't remember if he's done it already , but i would like to see Saxon as a captain. :encouragement:.

Now that's a good idea, I'd second that for SW. :encouragement:

I'd third that. His handicap knowledge is sensational. Give him the best Hcp day. Sceptre is a great shout as well with is all round knowledge and experience. What about Scooby guesting for a day? He would have given his tips out by then and can fill us in with a nice Yankee.

Like the Saxon idea, as Lobos said, the handicap knowledge is excellent. Give him Thursday :loyal:

Saxon Warrior isn't new....:victorious:

We'll have a seperate SW yankee I'm sure.... maybe a handicap one..... his Irish racing thread will give enough ammo for everyone too!

I tried to display strong leadership last year when I was Captain on the Thursday. I was advised to pick Samcro, Sire Du Berlais and Simply The Betts by experienced members on the forum. I ignored these suggestions, guidance and advice and took my own route. I should be sharing a cell with the Captain of the Costa Concordia after I shipwrecked that days Yankee :culpability:

:pirate: The Captain Pimm goes down with his ship.

As a new member I would happily take the challenge. There are many far more knowledgeable than myself on here... but by the sounds of it these aren’t always the most successful! :playful:

All a bit of fun.

Well done for all those putting their hands up but just to clarify, a thread will appear for each day in due course and in that thread will be suggestions and discussion around potential horses for that days yankee, the captains job is to select the final four horses but only after discussion.
Please don’t feel you are responsible for picking the yankee and carry entire responsibility, the discussion should thrash out reason and help make the captains job easier...

Well clarified Ista, just to add to that, there's no set formula on how a captain has to decide the picks, you can go with the most popular, or after long hard discussion you can completely ignore everybody and pick what you fancy yourself. Completely captain's choice :cheerful:
