Close Bros Handicap Chase

Very sold on Good Man Pat here. Stats point this way and has solid form.

surely got to double Riders on the Storm up with Early Doors

When I take punting so seriously, stupid bets like this shouldn't lure me in

BUT they do :highly_amused:

I am still wondering whether to back him. He is going to be nursed round to get the trip and sometimes on that ground you can find yourself too far back, particularly if you throw in the odd mistake. I would be a lot more hopeful on good ground.

Ended up with Quamino and Good Man Pat.

Quamino a big drifter and clearly nothing much expected on this ground. Whatever the conditions he was always going be nursed around and it could well be he never gets competitive. Good Man Pat has gone in the other direction. He needs to settle better and as another hold up horse will also need luck in running.

A Plus Tard - clearly a graded performer in a handicap.

Won't see a more impressive handicap winner all week.

Henry wins the race to get Chevely Park on the board!

I was stubborn and didn't back him, likewise with Le Breuil.

Always hurts the when I go against my degen tendencies and show some restraint...

Instead of the usual 'Price has gone, just put more on' :devilish:

I fancied Highway one o one , But today put A plus tard in a Multi and backed tower bridge on course
as well as Quamino, so could have been worse.
