Cheltenham Gold Cup 2020

Work has been hectic Kev, also they brought in a filter which blocks fat jockey, can you have a word! I'll have to have a think about the picture. I only clicked that yours is a cake like a week ago.

Also I'd have had Rachel down for the ride.

It's blocked at work for me too. Waste enough of my time on here as it is :highly_amused:

Yeah she'd be a nice fit for it.

It's the extra 2 furlongs that don't look like they'll suit him.

He wasn't staying on best in the RSA, Albert Bartlett or that slowly run race over Christmas.

He definitely could, but the doubt about him getting the trip is where you're getting the price.

I'd put him in the same bracket as Frodon in terms of staying ability. He probably will stay it, jbut not his best trip and therefore won't be good enough to win. Probably not good enough to place at the 3m2f trip up the hill for me.... but you never know :)

Agree re risk, but i think this is why the price is what it is, combined with stable....and so upside not priced in

But, would have said the same about Al Boum Photo this time last year probably, a horse Monalee beat in RSA and we have no evidence of Kemboy staying or liking course.....but he is a fraction of price

Times and the way that horses were finishing in all races are a pointer that Sunday's going was soft so the Irish Gold Cup was a proper stamina test and the visual evidence is that Kemboy stayed on as well as Delta Work and better than Presenting Percy. Going on from the Savills, he was 2l closer to Delta Work and 2.5l further ahead of Presenting Percy. The same progression to Cheltenham sees him ahead of Delta Work.

He came 4th in a JLT so he hardly hates Cheltenham and all the evidence is that most courses come the same to him. The jumping right, in itself, doesn't lose much or any ground although any mistakes don't help. As said elsewhere, the jockey needs to give him a good sight of the fences and let him do his own thing. If that means leading, so be it. Stamina isn't an issue but he'll waste more energy fighting any restraint.

All in all, he's probably a fair price at the moment.

Hopefully Davy will be honest in what he will be riding in the Gold Cup

Are you expecting him to be on anything but Presenting Percy?

Has to be long, long odds on.

Absolutely if Gigginstown ask him to ride Delta Work he will jump at it

They've literally already said this season he hasn't got the ride because he's committed to Percy... it's why they put Keith on DW whilst Jack Kennedy was injured first time out.

I don't think he'll be given the choice, and I also don't think he'd jump ship even if he did... he's be getting off a 2 time festival winner to get on a 0 time festival winner. Not exactly a no brainer... only a few lengths behind to make up.

Whether you fancy PP or not, Davy isn't going to be banging their door down to get the ride either..... so I just don't see it happening.

Interesting to see if it gets priced up anywhere.... PP usually do things like that, if you ask them nicely...

A 0 time festival winner?

I know it was only by a nose, but it should still count??!! Davy was on board that day as well.

I think it will be really hard for him if they were to ask, but I'm not sure they will.

I will give you a theoretical 4/6 Davy to ride DW vs 6/4 about Davy to ride PP

Haha, it was tongue in cheek, DW has very, very good festival form too:encouragement: (Just not quite as good)

I would have my max stake on him to ride PP at 6/4.

Shall I set up a poll :devilish:

Lads duno where to put this but I put a double on Clan Des Obeaux KG/Lostintranslation GC with Skybet a while back. Just noticed that the bet isn't in the 'My Bets' section anymore. Is this considered a related bet and they've voided it? Was taking too long on live chat to get an answer

No, this wouldn't be a related bet so they shouldn't void.
Hang around on the 'chat' would be my advice...

If youve got a load of open bets on skybet some seem to disappear from the my bets sections and you have to manually search through the open bets each month...

Yep that seems to be the case I had to go back to the actual month the bet was placed in to find it. Says it's open but the potental returns figure has disapeared from the bet. Bit strange

I have similar mate with my EA bally bet (boosted his price with champs league games), go to open bets in the main settings bit to find it.

Any Native River backers from before the weekend feel he enhanced his claims?

Anyone back him after the weekend?

I'd say he's got no chance of going off shorter than the current price he is.
Could well be double figures with more places or "without the fav" when we get closer.

Place claims only IMO though, regardless of ground.
