Cheltenham 2026 Prices

….33-1 (35-1 boosted) with Hills now looking a bit of a stand-out for Mydaddypaddy (Supreme). I notice Hills don’t have Turners priced up.

Gameofinches is getting some attention in various lists and I had taken a position in the Turners. However Mullins is minded to get him chasing as he is already 6. He is built like a chaser and so I have cashed out and invested in BANC instead. Also taken 12/1 a/race. However in researching his p2P history I see that on debut he fell at the last behind Clondaw General - also aged 6 (now with Kim Bailey) when 2l down. Clondaw largely disappointed last season but might be worth a speculative interest in the BANC. I had him added to BANC with Bet365 at 100/1.

…..Ladbrokes have a ‘special’, Trad Jazz to win MNH @ 25-1. Presume somebody requested it. She’s 33-1 Hills and 28s available with PP, not seen her mentioned on here.

Still can't see Sir Gino priced up with anyone for the Champion Hurdle ??. Will he be risked over fences this season after coming back from his injury? With him not expected to run until after Xmas, if CH blows out again at Newcastle then he could well be Nicky's only hope for the Champion Hurdle. State Man is of course in the same ownership but he's with a different trainer and ridden by a different jockey plus he's at the wrong end of the age scale.

+Anzadam too Lobos. I'm not sure the Donnellys would be all that concerned if both Willie and Nicky said both respective horses would need to stay over hurdles this year but would they have 3 in the same race? Potentially, it would make it a lot more exciting than it currently looks.

Not saying it couldn't happen or minds can't change but below is the interview from The Racing Post with Nicky about Sir G, making it clear what the current thinking is. He says he's not making a plan then tells us what the plan is!

The trainer said: "Everyone did brilliantly, but we’re very much still keeping our fingers crossed. There’s no timeframe on this. We’re going slowly with him, but we’re very happy. He’s grown into the most magnificent animal.

"He was very ill, and a lot of horses who have had a similar condition have died. We knew the ice was very thin, but everyone got him through. For him to come out the other side and look amazing is unbelievable. He’s developed again. It tells you how strong and solid he is, because he had six weeks of the most intense antibiotics you could drill into a horse."

Sir Gino beat Ballyburn by seven and a half lengths at Kempton and a return to that meeting is something Henderson has discussed, although he is prepared to stay patient with his star chaser.

He added: "I would’ve thought it's unlikely we’ll see him race before Christmas as we’re going very slowly, but we’re probably ahead of the predicted plan for him.

"We did think about getting to Christmas, but I’m not rushing to meet a deadline. I’m not even looking at a plan for him but it will be over two miles and it will be over fences.

"You have got Kempton and the Desert Orchid, so if there was anything in the back of my mind, then it might be that. It's a lovely place to start, but we’ll just take it as he tells us."

A few of Willies clipped in today including State Man and F2F. Has Willie made any comments re his team at Listowel today?

I am in the other camp that says Lossie will run in the CH this year, or at least that will be the plan……until it isn’t!

IMO when Willie confirms the CH plan in the stable tours the 5/1 will be long gone and will be around 3/1 or shorter

She will only be 7 at next years Festival (the same age as The New Lion) and IMO only has two horses to beat……TNL and State Man

State Man will be 9 next year and the last 9 year old to win the CH was Hurricane Fly in 2013, so trends suggest the 7 year old Lossie, who is only a pound off top hurdle rating (inc Mares allowance) should have a great chance. The handicapper believes she is 7lbs better than TNL over 2 1/2 miles (inc Mares allowance) at the start of this season. Could Lossie improve by a few pounds with another year on her back?….. could State Man regress a tad being 9?

Another reason I believe she will run in the CH this year is that Willie has a pretty good stand in for the Mares race with JDV. Not saying that JDV will beat Wodhooh, but he did say at the end of last year that JDV may stay over hurdles this year.

It’s whether you believe that Lossie will go the Quevega route and will win the next couple of years Mares hurdles, or that she may be better and can cut it in open company in the CH this year……..Annie Power comes to mind, so that’s why I am in the CH camp for now 😀
Lossie won't run in the champion hurdle and I'll tell you why

Paul won't get off stateman and ricci needs Paul to ride her. Danny nearly killed her last time .

She had a setback didn't she at the end of last season. Any update on that ?

Just watched it back. Tote preview available on You Tube. Interesting that he talks of JDV jumping a fence and mentions NHC. Also said Kopek could be one Willie maybe steps up in distance at some stage after starting out at 2m. Both of those I know have been well talked up on here. Also said Kargese could be an Arkle horse. Just his thoughts of course. Good listen though.
