Cheltenham 2020 - Ante post bets

I think it may have already been mentioned, but I see hills offering ‘any race’ horses in multies. I was tempted by a few. Even though a little hesitant as if land not sure they would pay out, what’s other people’s thoughts on this?

I think the Hill's shops start closing this month Geordieboy , I don't know how many they have got.
But apparently 700 to close . whether that's all at the same time i don't know.
I guess the Big ones in major towns& cities will remain . ??

backed samcro 25-1 rsa, elliots comments yesterday were good enough to take a position,
not so sure they'll be as protective of him nowadays, so the RSA might be the one for him.
I don't like him enough to take shorter for the JLT.

Cheers SC, can't wait for it all to start now! Providing Samcro takes to chasing and makes it to the festival safe and sound, where do people think he will end up? JLT 12/1, RSA 25/1? (any race 8/1)

If Oleary winding down operations I can only see one place he will want Samcro to go and that's The Arkle , he don't need the money , its all about prestige to him id say.So Any Race market makes most appeal at this stage till plans become more fluid.

You'll only get prestige if it wins though.
they were seriously considering the stayers last season and I'd say the arkle is by far the least likely destination.
And since birth they've consistently said he's a staying chaser in the making.
But you never know.

Just read my Paul Ferguson book back to front (great read by the way)and two horses continually got mentioned by Paul and several jockeys as horses to look out for.

Chantry House & Reserve Tank are the two horses in question.

Chantry House only seems to appear in bet365 Ballymore odds at 16/1 strange no others seem to want to price him up. Reserve tank a general 16s for JLT.

Anyone got a opinion on these two , cheers.

A few have backed reserve tank for RSA at 33-1 (including myself), but I think most think he may end up JLT.
I thunk he may be campaigned similarly to Lostintranslation, but could end up in the RSA as Lostintranslation nearly did and improved for further at aintree which depending on the opposition in each race come march may influence tizzard.

Agreed Quevega , but a lot of future gold cup winners go this route

Chantry house available at 25s any race market on hills

I'm aware of that. But much more go the RSA route.
The arkle for Samcro is extremely unlikely.

My personal opinion on Samcro is he shows more pace than stamina in his races , I could be wrong , all part of the conundrum , good luck if you backed him.

I’ve stated a case for Reserve Tank for the RSA previously but he could easily go for the shorter JLT too.

Chantry House was an expensive purchase (nearly £300K I think) and was a big talking horse at the end of last season. He impressively won a Bumper and was then entered over hurdles at the Punchestown Festival but never got declared in the end. I’m a big fan of Yeats as a sire and given his point win, the Ballymore would be my guess for his end of season target and I’ve backed him for that earlier in the year.

Purely an Opinion. but i have Reserve tank backed already for the J.L.T chs. Think he could be top drawer .
Not sure about taking the 33-1 for r.s.a as a backup.

I'm sure it's possible J.M., Unless i misread it he says " I'll have a look at the races at punchestown,.
But that trip look's fine.he stays well , but had no trouble laying up."

Did you watch the video interview?

No haven't watched it yet , . But am thinking now , it might be good idea to take the 33's.

I’m only providing information, not trying to steer you at all. But as you’re a big fan of the horse it would be wise in my opinion to cover both.

I tend to agree about Reserve Tank being very good . I fancy Birchdale for JLT but The Tank form looks formidable, may have to play again.
