Cheltenham 2019 Ante-Post bets

Unfortunately not this year FM, have my wedding coming up soon that meant I couldn't get the free pass from the boss :highly_amused:

Fingers crossed on TOTG, would be my biggest winner ever if he were to do the business!

Win or lose, I'm sure TOTG will give you a great run for your money. There isn't a better getting in the world than nailing a big winner.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding.

Hopefully all of our dreams are still alive at this point, not sure we will be saying that by next friday night.. if we all get a few winnings and have a enjoyable 4 days, I am sure everyone will be happy here.. and good work to everyone over the past 12 months for giving their selections and write ups, for me personally it's been helpful..

PS

Touch wood for no more f---ing out for the season horse, as they hurt sooooo much..

Yah. That's why Tuesday in Cheltenham is such a buzz - everyone thinks they have 28 winners down up and the atmosphere is electric.

You are right about the 'out for the season' thread. It's a killer!

Anyone else invested in preview evening multis ?

I chanced one Ista...

E/W Treble - Measureofmydreams, Janika & Dallas Des Pictons

Couldn’t justify backing them in singles.

There are 4 of us going this year. Numbers are dwindling.

Set off Monday - drink far more than planned, having said I'll only have a couple but excitement always gets the better of me.
Racing Tuesday and Wednesday - love being in the town before racing on the Tuesday. Far too much to drink again, meet up with a few people we've met over the years and talk racing and drink some more. They are easily my favourite two days of the year.
Up early Thursday to get the train back north so that we are in the local for the JLT.
I'm a shivering wreak by Friday and can barely think clearly.
Saturday I'll try and watch the Midlands national and 6 Nations with one eye open.

What a week! :highly_amused:

That itinerary could go out the door with a few good winners on Tuesday :very_drunk:

Best I could manage was the Wednesday & Thursday off work, will watch in a pub in Dublin with a few friends.

There was a year that I didn't make the races on the Wednesday, so plans can change:highly_amused:

Hope I don't experience that again though

May cross paths, FM. Doing Tues and Weds myself

Convinced myself Faugheen IS good enough to win the stayers

I was given some tickets from work for Thursday. Grand I thought, booked the train to get in at around midday lovely stuff.

Got home and opened the envelope and they're for the bloody Chez Roux restaurant! Thinking myabe I should buy new tickets to get in earlier to make the most of it.

Did have another jolly planned to take me on Friday, but I've a 7:45 train to cardiff on Saturday for Wales Ireland so may swerve that

What is the Chez Roux restaurant?

Beyond the guiness village there's a load of restaurant/boxes of varying degrees of fanciness. It's the one run by the dad of that guy who runs Le Gavroche and is on masterchef a lot. I think they're like £700 a ticket. Keeping stum in case it was a mistake!

I love the horse but Faugheen is the romantic selection lads don’t let your heart rule your head!

When last seen he was in the process of running a huge race. Freshened up since, he's the one to beat for me. I feel like I'll be in the minority though.

See if you can squeeze us in:highly_amused:
