At Evens, I'd rather back Altior or Thistlecrack. There are a number of fragile Ricci horses and not sure he has the 'banker' novice hurdler this year either.

My Ricci Treble was VERY speculative (125/1) and placed using a Free Bet :)
 
Thanks Leman.. all risk like you say but you only need one to come off to make it pay. I generally just use this method to get a boost early doors to bets that i would be having anyway.

Getabird is the perfect example as he runs first - meaning im set for DD etc which (providing all is well between now and then) is likely a bet id be having anyway on the day and probably at a much lower price. Your Altior/Douvan/Thistle bet is looking very tasty!



Theres no fun in that though Ista and these pay a tad more than evens :) If i were to go down that route i think id rather wait till the week of the fes and pick out the most like 4/5 ricci winners and pit them in an accy and would pay much better than evens
 
That's fair enough Leman and I don't disagree, I just wondered whether you wanted to have several runners to cheer on

My only concern with relying on Mullins' is the worry that your festival could be over on the Monday?

Now I have a lot of the combinations covered and am not saying it won't work, and I hope it does, because "we" will all be swimming in gravy together... but this year I've made a big effort to ensure that any Mullins' Non Runners don't put me way behind... there is certainly value in taking him on too?

That is good. What price do we think Annie and Faugheen? Anything bigger than even I will get tempted probably.

I'd be amazed if Faugheen wasn't odds on and Annie wasn't evens at absolute best. If they were bigger than evens I wouldn't expect those prices to last long.

Yeh me too, too good to be true surely. Will AHVE to back Faugheen before his comeback regardless...if he wins that well he will be odds on and very short indeed? If he loses he might not run.... and even if he didn't win, would he really drift that much? And if he "lacks a bit of toe" and goes for the WH, money back anyway....

I am excited to see what they do!

Welcome CCM. I occasionally read the betfair forum and have seen you on there make some good points.

Less argument and more debate on here in my ever so humble opinion :devilish:

. The betfair forum used to be excellent but most of the regular posters left and set up on their own I think.
 
Welcome CCM - I was a reader of several racing forums for a while inc betfair forum, joined up here and so far seems the best around by far imo :encouragement:

Yes I've been reading a few the last couple of months jono and this definitely stands out as the best.
